Question for Manfred/Portage people?
Re: Question for Manfred/Portage people?
Transfer? Did he pay money in the form of tuition to become a Ranger?
Re: Question for Manfred/Portage people?
Wait a second... so kid clearly transfers for athletic intent and not a single person cries foul here. I wonder what the reaction who'd be if he transferred to BG???
Re: Question for Manfred/Portage people?
Alot more then just sports going on with the young man transferring as I was told. And I'll leave it at that!
Heard BG didn't want him..appears they got all they need

BS! Always "a lot more than spots" when it's public to public. Same story the kid from West A was pushing when he tried to transfer to Pine. Kid actually claimed he was bullied. Yea, the D1 caliber star athlete was bullied...

Heard info along the lines of stangin80.
Re: Question for Manfred/Portage people?
So one of the salient points that is always brought up when it's a public-to-private transfer is what about that good private school kid who has soldiered along all those years only to have his/her spot taken by the transfer. Where is the concern in this case? Oh, that's right, it's okay since he'll have to "earn" his spot. No "athletic purpose" here...
Re: Question for Manfred/Portage people?
upnorth, we clearly have a situation here where this young child desperatly needed a change of scenery for reasons well beyond the athletic field. We should just be happy that he has been raised to do what society today calls us to do when things get tough, run away. Just not to a private school. ;)upnorth wrote:So one of the salient points that is always brought up when it's a public-to-private transfer is what about that good private school kid who has soldiered along all those years only to have his/her spot taken by the transfer. Usually when it public to private the kid involved is a stud athlete and will start anywhere he or she goes.

Without commenting about rumors and hearsay that is grumbled around town and at football games, I've heard what sounds like the same things that stangin80 has been hinting around at. It is what it is I suppose. The QB situation was already what it currently is even before his "non-commitment" to offseason workouts, camps and 7 on 7's so it's not like he demoted after the fact. Heard he joined the Rangers roster during week 3 or 4. He hasn't played basketball since his freshman year, however he will be slightly missed on the diamond where he wasn't a bad baseball player.

So you don't care as long as it's not a "stud athlete". Gotcha, thanks!GoldenRamsFAN wrote:Usually when it public to private the kid involved is a stud athlete and will start anywhere he or she goes.
