CR Boys B-Ball finale

Post by foghorn »

The Little Lions beat a tough Titan squad Mon. afternoon at the Terrordome, 44-36. It was a real foulfest as both officials obviously had no jv games to go to.

Ridge is now 18-5 and entertains Bedford this afternoon at the CR Middle School Lions Den in its closing contest. They lost to the Bisons by a point in the first meeting. It should be an interesting rematch as Bedford has a talented team and the Lions are finishing on a roll, having won six games in the past week.

the lions have had a nice season, all in all. Except for maybe a few boisterous parents. haha.. Good luck.

The bisons beat the lions 33-32 with a last second shot from right inside the three point line. It was a heartbreaker. All the calls again seemed to go against the lions

Actually sportsfan is right, the majority of the calls went against us. The lions had 6 more fouls against them than the bisons did at one point in the fourth quarter.

I can see getting screwed by the officials at the opponents court, but Ridge definitely got it from their own officials this game.

Going back to the first game at Bedford the foul difference was 8-3 against Ridge in the second half. Bedford ended up shooting 10 more foul shots than Ridge, and that definitely changes a 1 point game.

Today, Herncane was called for a 5 second violation after he had just came off a screen and was dribbling around the perimeter looking to penetrate where as a blocking foul could have been called. The game was very physical, but the fouls showed the game was being officiated bad. Though I will admit Bedford had some bad calls against them also.

Ridge deserved to win that game but thats how it played out and Roy made a great shot to win it for them with seconds remaining.
