In response to the younger guys that look like Barry. Hank Blalock is a player. 3b out of Texas and he's only 23. He's hit 5 bombs this year and has a slugging pct of .535. BA of .316 and an impressive OPS(obp + slg pct) of .900.

On a side note in a recent interview our modest Barry Bonds was asked his feelings on being walked 44 times in 27 games including 22 INT walks. He said it doesn't bother him and added, "Pick your poison," he said. "You can walk me or see it go."

i think a guy that is more like barry bonds at a young age is alfonso soriano. soriano is prolly bigger than bonds was back in the day tho. soriano is an all-around batting machine. he doesnt walk at all but can hit any pitch thrown his way. if soriano adds on 100lbs of muscle in the next 12 yrs and decides to take every pitch not thrown in his wheelhouse, he will be barry bonds.

for all you people that love bonds to no end and think he is the greatest player of all-time, here are 3 factors i saw on sportscenter the other nite that hurt the idea bonds is the best ever. bonds is not a career .300 hitter. he does not have 3000 hits. babe ruth had more career shutouts as a pitcher than pedro has as of today. bonds is most likely the best position player in this era, but babe ruth has got to be #1 all-time.

also, too bad about griffey. i would really like to see him play %100 for a full season again.

Good question. Some athletes just seem to have a problem with injuries. ie. remember Grant Hill?

jose lind is only 9 hr's ahead of me as of the present.

speaking of chico lind, while searching for the man's stats i found this interesting tidbit. jose "chico" lind was once arrested for driving w/o any pants on. thats is just funny.

here is the link. some pretty funny stuff on it.
