Your list of PSA All-Americans is questionable. The first five names were all in the same year, and Engram probably should not have been one. He benefited from having great players around him. The following year, he was not an All-American and was greatly outshone by Terry Glenn in the Big Ten. The other eight names might be accurate although I have my doubts about Kim Herring, Brandon Short, and Michael Haynes. Here is the bottom line: With eight All-Americans in the past 7-8 years, why aren't they any better? They should be a Big Ten powerhouse with that many, but they have not been. I think the reason is probably JoePa. He is not even one of the five best coaches in the Big Ten anymore. He cannot be rated above Tiller, Tressel, Carr, Ferentz, or Mason. All of these have done better with their talent than JoePa in the past 10 years. Joe should go and the AD at Penn State needs to get some kahonas and fire him. If he were at an elite program, such as Michigan or OSU, he would have been long gone by now and PSU probably would not be staring at a third straight losing season in '04.

The list is straight from gopsusports.com on the football history page with a bio about each player.

Most of those names were from 94-99. In 99 PSU was ranked #1 for much of the season. 94's team was loaded, thus all the AAs from there. It is the need for these names every year if you want to be a top 5 team in the nation. The years when all the guys were there they did very well, including the team with LJ, Kennedy, Adams, Haynes, etc just two years ago. They were top 2-3 in the B10 most every year since they have been in it except for the 3 losing seasons.

WOW with all that talent, I think Penn St. should WIN more than 2 national titles don't you think?? I hope Joe stays because he is the only thing to like about PSU. Can't wait to see who replaces him and I am sure Coach will say hey we are rebuilding with a new coach, let us have a few down years. Joe always seems to get out-coached nowadays by good coaches in the Big 10!

Well said, Hollywood. JoePa WAS a good coach. He is about 75 years old now and no longer understands how to win games or motivate players. He might be trying to stay in to catch Bowden, but that will not happen. Plus, Bowden is a much better coach than Paterno. 14 consecutive top 4 finishes is a mark that will never be matched.
