I don't think Schilling risks the series for his team unless he feels hes ready to go. I say he comes out and has a big game and its going seven. And as much as I hate to say it, the TRADITION in the words of brlnsoccerchick will prolly continue.

Schilling is probably a better option even when he's not 100% then whoever else the Red Sox can throw out there tonight. Schilling has the next 4+ months to get his health back to 100%... I think we are going do see the Curt Schilling we saw all year... I know the Red Sox are "c-word".. but in years past there is no way they would have won game 4 or 5... late inning comeback victorys... they were always on the other end of those games. Plus.. do you really think Leiber can throw near as well as what he did in game 2?

I seriously think that Schilling is going to throw one of his best games and quiet the crowd at Yankee Stadium. Its gonna be a good game I think, but the Red Sox will come out with a win and force a game 7. I also think that the Red Sox bats have been quiet this series and they are soon going to blow a game wide open.

So the Red Sox bats didn't quite come alive, but it was enough to get them to game 7. Schilling pitched a great game. Thats all you can ask from him at his level. I don't think most people will think for the Red Sox to do the unthinkable, but it could happen. I look for it to be one of the closest games.

The Red Sox are my Papi.

You just have to appreciate the history of this in baseball. Out of 25 teams that previously fell behind 3-0 in a best of 7, none has forced a game seven. The Red Sox are the first team to do it after falling behind that much. It would figure if they 'broke the curse' tonight by winning game 7, and being the first team to win a best of seven series after falling 3 games behind. And has anybody noticed how the Red Sox seem to be winning after all these consecutive games? I wonder if they are playing better tired than the Yankees are? I think the Red Sox can pull it off.

I have a theory here:

The Yankees haven't won in the ALCS since John Olerud caught that ball off his instep. I say the put him in the lineup so they get back to the lineup where they made the most damage. The guy makes the big bucks for a reason....suck it up and make a sacrifice for your team!

game 7. man, just un(explitive)'ing believable. i hope tonite's game goes 50 innings so that this series doesnt end. at the beginning of the series, i simply wanted boston to win and the yankees to lose. now, im not so sure.

i want the yankees to lose more than anything, don't get me wrong there. big george becoming donald trump or my big fat obnoxious boss ("i think i could kill you.") would be the most entertaining meltdown of all time. tim mccarver makes commets on derek jeter as he mopes off the field saying, "i have never seen an athlete lose w/ such class," yankee fans walk out of the stadium in absolute silence, and the yankee aura becomes tarnished forever. i just could not pass on any of this.

i must say, tho, that seeing the red sox win will tarnish their mystique as well. no longer will they be the lovable losers. they will become just another team that has been to the world series recently. they will lose their defining characteristic, losing when it matters the most usually to ny. it would be like if scott norwood would have made that field goal against the giants to win the super bowl but 10x's greater.

i guess i still want boston to win. the individaul performances of some of the guys on that team were just unworldly. schiling, ortiz, foulke are just the start of a list of players that have been money in the last cpl days. as long as boston fans and this franchise do not become something they have hated for 100 yrs, i want the sox to win.

if you like baseball or sports or just exciting television, you need to watch this game tonite. just try not to pay too much attention to what that crazy ole man mccarver has to say.
