Sure on this site there have been a few posts from those that have beathed a sigh of relief, but it has not gone overboard. I can only imagine what some of the libs on here would have done had it gone your way.

My original post is just some thoughts on how Bush is going to try to pass legislation that the 60 million who voted for him want.

We need one new gun law.......conceal and carry lincenses nationwide! A little Texas touch.

No knew gun laws are needed! What needs done is to get on your local DA's to prosecute the offenders of the current laws. I'll be curious(as we all should) to see what those 10 people busted a few weeks ago in the Altoona area get for buying guns to sell to felons from the Philly area. If this doesn't get major attention and max penalties, then the Blair DA and the liberal robes in Hollidaysburg need to be filing for unemployment.

Go ahead and imagine what we'd be saying, LP. I'm sure that a nanosecond after Kerry won we'd be calling for the faithful to start working against whoever was deemed the top GOP contender for the 2008 election.

I'll go out one better, Southpaw, that ties in with your c and c licenses: The heck with Air Marshals. The best way to stop terrorism in the air is to "arm all the passengers."

(Archie Bunker had this same idea on an episode of "All in the Family" about 30 years ago.)

I'm not necessarily bitter. In fact, no matter who won, I'm glad that the election didn't get legislated to death and that there is a clear winner, and the loser, even if it was Kerry, is conceding for the good of the people and the electorial process.
I'm just saying that no matter who is in there, most of Europe is not going to work with us. Period. Look at the Spanish election in March. Yeah, the terrorists targeted Spain, but the decision to go into Iraq was unpopular before the bombings. Poland is withdrawing their troops. Why? 90% or so are against the war in Iraq. Just the facts, and cold hard reality.

Hey, your the one that said if Jeb Bush is the '08 candidate you would lead the rebellion to oust him or something along those lines. And let's see, you said that about a month BEFORE the election. Sorry foggy, but you already beat me to the punch. My memory ain't that great but I'd like to see you deny that one.

Imagine this scenario? Kery as president with the legislative makeup we have in place. Talk about a dead horse executive.

I beleive that people elected Bush to get things done. He has the ideas and the political structure to really initiate change. ANd in his casa not have to worry about an upcoming election.

We will see a lot of revolutionary changes.

ANother one I would throw in the mix is the UN and how we deal with them.

Everyone is talking about all the changes Bush will make over the next 4 years. What was he doing the last 4 years? He had the house and senate majority. You can't tell me the war on terrorism took up all his time...he did find time to get a tax cut through while the war was going on. And the war on terrorism hasn't gone away.....is he going to take his focus off that now to concentrate on policy at home?

What do you think he was doing Once a Runner?

Do you have any concept of what it takes to manage a war? I know I dont. It seems to me that it would require time that otherwise would have been spent elsewhere on other issues.

He did work for a tax cut. The results which created a growing economy. If you could have taken the money that was spent on the Afghan and the Iraq War and invested it back into our own economy, one wonders how things would look today.

There have been precious few times in history when the political power in Washington has been in the hands of one party.

The people have spoken through the ballot box. They expect good things to happen. If gridlock and corruption become the name of the game then things will change again in a radical manner. Probaly as early as 2006.

That was part of my point....isn't the war ongoing? If it takes so much time to handle the war, then when is he going to find time to get this agenda passed?
