well that is very sweet... but he doesn't make for the best coach around... he has favorites and that is who plays not to mention they are all selfish players and only give the ball to people they like... i know of a few people who have quit because of that and others who were thinking of it

yeah, if you are on the team, and you are privately sporting an attitude like that, then well, you are a cancer.

Short and simple.

If you are on the team and you feel strongly about what you are saying. The best and only thing you can do, if you genuinely care about the team, is to schedule a meeting with JT and share your concerns. If you dont then your poisonous comments will fester and create a very negative scene.

Remember, the only person you ever have any control over is yourself.

And #2, your coach is not a mind reader.

Who in the world would state that Black plays his favorites. That is ridiculous. Black plays the 5 girls that deserve top play. Every team is ran the same way!! The GOOD players get to play, this isn't middle school basketball were everyone gets a chance to play.
It is pretty sad though that Kayla is only getting 7 shots off a game. Something need to be done about that because she is the leader this year.

Well, one girl that was having problems did talk with Coach Black and it basically made things worse. After their little chit-chat, he started to single her out and yell at her more often during games and practices. Meanwhile his favorites, yes I said favorites, don't seem to ever do anything wrong. So yes Dawg, I believe that lion07 and I do have a right to stir things up a little. Something needs to be done if these girls want to make it to the playoffs again, or even win another game for that matter.

Well, it still gets back to the fact that you can not control anyone but yourself. Get ready for real life. More than likely at some point in your life you are going to work for a boss who in your estimation, acts like JT. You have several options, talk to them, talk to their boss, adjust, or quit.

I still wuold strongly support a private conversation, one on one with your coach. Perhaps the second time it would involve one of your parents.

Realize this one point. You need to approach him from the standpoint of, what do I as your player need to do differently to make things better. Coming at him as though you know better than him will not work. Be humble and gracious. It is still a privilege to play high school sports not a right.

Well Dawg, JT isn't these girls' boss nor is it a workplace. He is supposed to be their coach and a friend who respects them and teaches them the game of basketball in a positive manner, not someone who thinks it is his job to put them down when all they need is a little extra help with their game. These are high school girls who just want to have fun, play basketball and win some games during their last few years there. Since the "private conversation" didn't work, I guess I'll just take your advice and let the girls know the only solution now is to quit.
