...And he's ok!!!!!!!!!!
well for those of you that might have felt lonely or slight depression over the past 2 weeks due to my sudden dissapearance, well you may now breath a sigh of relief, the one and only gunner has spent the past 10 days in Naval Hospital, Cherry Point, North Carolina undergoing surgery and treatment for kidney stones. for those of you that have never had the joy of experience this sensation, i only have one thing to say to you.....LUCKY BASTARDS!!!!!!! kidney stones have been reffered to doctors as a males version of giving birth, and i can definetly testify to that now. it is by far the most painful thing i have ever had. including several mouth and foot surgeries. but anywho, i was discharged today and sent home for 2 weeks to recover, so im back in action, sorry for the the dissapearance

It's sort of like trying to pass a golf ball through a garden hose.......no wait....that was the punch line from a dirty joke! Seriously, been there, done that. It must be all that good military food you're eating. LOL

Percosets make me sick, but that double-shot of morphine was smooth. One wasn't enough. I passed mine in the ER though, sorry you had to be in for 10 days with all those nice sweet male interns and nurses. Bet they took REAL good care of you!

actually pale rider, that was by far the best hospital stay i have EVER had, all the corpsmen (younger folk) were males, but pretty cool guys, the nurses were all female officers with an average of 20 years in the navy, and the doc was a Capt (1 rank below admiral) and he was a big boy...about 6'5 275...he was a mountain of a man, but super nice. i actually missed beinng there when i was discharged. the one nurse was like a mother to me, she held my hand thru the times when i had the worst pain and even came in and watched about an hour of tv with me the one nite. SUPER friendly people tho.
and your quite lucky, i was only allowed 1 shot of morphine...10mg every 4 hours, sometimes they gave me 5 every 2 to try and hold the edge off, but it didnt work. it wasnt until after the surgery that they put me on the drip...a steady dose of morphine mixed in w/ my IV...just enough to keep me in as minimal pain as possible, but the best part of that was it came with a button that would release a medium dose (i think 3-5mg) any time i wanted....i definatly abused that right! haha.
by the way, i went in with 6 and came out with 5 1/2....the 1/2 broke off when they tried to remove it and went back into my kidneys and the other 5 are too small to operate on.

Did they say anything about trying to break them up with the Lithotripter? The ultrasound thingy that pulverizes stones. You had me for a minute when you said you went in with 6 and came out with 5 1/2! You know what I thought!
