Penn State Football
I agree Coach, and I'd love nothing more than to walk out of the Big House with 110,000+ quite Michigan fans. Besides, PSU owes Michigan one after the game in 2002.

Re: Penn State Football
[quote="Boilerman";p="97248"]We know the defense will be solid, but again only one phase of the game. What got them in trouble last year was offense and kicking game. I know that the offensive improvements in terms of specialists has been talked about on here, but what improvements have been made on the offensive line? Also, does anyone have any insight on PSU's kicking game for 2005?

The kicking game was high priority, they went right out and recruted a kicker, plus they have a walk on who is pretty well.

Ham, i think they will have a better shot at home against OSU that away at Michigan, The Big House could shake em up.

I'm not too optimistic about Penn State taking one of the two between Ohio State and Michigan. If they do take one, it will be at Michigan. Ohio State has the talent and team this year to go all the way to Pasadena and fight for yet another national title, and I personally think they will do it. Michigan though, has recently lost some of their better personnel on defense, as well as their superstar wide receiver.

I believe in momentum, but not that much. Besides that, those two teams forementioned are probably going to still be undefeated when they play PSU.
And last year, Oklahoma should have had lots of momentum heading into the national title game after beating the **** out of Colorado to the tune of 42-3. But apparently they didn't, as we all know how badly Oklahoma got scorched in the game against USC.

Yea, and OU also had over a month off from the last game to the championship game. Sometimes a week off is too long for momentum to carry over, let alone a month.
The first 3 games are going to be pivitol for PSU. With it all haveing to come together in the next 4 weeks. If they can gain some confidence on O, then carry that momentum into NW to face an always tough Wildcat squad and beat them handily, they will be feeling good going into Minnesota and OSU. College Football is a game of streaks, and if PSU get's hot early, they could be hot for a good while...

Re: Penn State Football
This is being written as a college football fan, not as a Pitt fan.....Six reasons why PSU will have a tough time beating Michigan. 1) By the fate of scheduling, Penn State plays Michigan the week after they play Ohio State. They will be sky-high for the home game vs the Buckeyes. It's hard to get up for games 2 weeks in a row. 2) With the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Notre Dame on their early season schedule, Michigan may be more battle-tested than PSU when they meet. 3) It's hard to get up 2 weeks in a row. 4) There is such a thing as home field advantage 5) It's hard to get up 2 weeks in a row and 6) the real kicker: Penn State plays 5 of their first 6 games at home. From the start of fall camp in early August, until October 15th when the play at Michigan, they only leave Happy Valley ONE time, when they go to Northwestern. That's over 2 months of football and only ONE road trip. Gonna be tough playing without the home crowd on your side.
