Unofficially "official" decision

word is Steele got the job. He will be taking a science job until principal position opens up, which will be when superintendent retires and current principal bumps up. Bryan Taylor is already at bedford, and I look for Josh Smith to be hired with a teaching position as well.

If this is true, as a Bedford alum, I am absolutely disgusted. Since when do you overlook someone who knows this tradition, who's family has been a part of the tradition for over 7 decades, and who has all intentions of remaining a part of the program for the rest of his teaching/coaching career? Kudos to the board for striving for mediocrity by hiring an "average at best" single A staff in one of the best AA conferences in the state! Hopefully the Bison faithful on the staff get out of soon-to-be Titantown, USA and take their knowledge and dedication to the sport of football to a district who respects and appreciates them.

I am not saying this is false because I don't know either way, but if this is your logic and no other information known then I find a major flaw on it unless the school board has changed their mind on a huge issue, which is adminstrators coaching sports. We all clearly know that if it wasn't for that stupid rule in the first place then Bedford's coach would still be Shoemaker.

Information is from very reliable source. Coach steele just made the announcement to his team. You watch, they will create a position for him. How do you think he ended up at Tussey? Shady dealings, my friend.

Your story still has a huge hole. He may be going there to teach if he does get the job, but he most certainly will not get an administrative job and be able to keep coaching. If they brought him in with the anticipation of making him an admin, this is a waste of a year, unless the policy changes. And if it does, I want Kyle Kane to coach that team.

The next scheduled school board meeting is the 20th. Despite what you've heard, they'll decide there the fate of who the new head football coach is going to be then, and not a minute later.

I heard from "reliable" sources that it is also a done deal. Not sure about the "rule" heard a while back that the "rule" was Supt. Pat Crawfords rule. Rule= not allowing admin. to coach.

I also heard that Steele will be presented to the board as the choice.

The rule that admin's can't coach has got to be the dumbest rule in the world. It will be changed. Bottom line is. They will need to create a teaching position for him until Thompson retires and he can move into administation.

I like the move. I have heard good things about coach Steele. Plus I believe that Dan Baker is a class guy and will still help. So really you get both by hiring Steele.

Hoganddog.

As a Bedford alum you should want what is best for the Bedford football program. Kevin Steele has done a good job at TM. When he got there the FB program was a joke. I am a Bedford alum and played under coach Shoemaker. I have no idea why some people in Bedford feel the new coach HAS TO BE "a Bedford guy" If you cared about the program you would want the best guy hired regardless of his current address. Then to say all the current Bedford coaches should get out if they don't hire Baker. That shows no class and doesn't help the kids a bit. That's the attitude that most people and some coaches took when Swaim was hired. I only hope that people give Steele a fair shake and work with him when and if he is hired.
