Congrats to NC...They were the best team in D6 and the West and had an amazing run but seriously i couldnt root for the only D6 team in the Finals because...Theyre all brainwashed into this public school against the world?


the chants..."we dont recruit" and "public school"....not too amusing and very uncreative. You lost to a better team in York but of course blame the catholic school for recruiting because when a public school losses to a catholic school theres no way that a catholic school could possibly just have better talent then the oublic school. We all know that!!!

Congratulations to York Catholic on another state title. Way to go girls!! Northern Cambria fans...you embarrassed yourselves with your "public school" chant on TV. It's getting really old.

Lets clear something up right now.Northern Cambria lost to a private school.Let's quit heaping this up into a religion thing.This is a school who had never won a district title and may not get to another state title game for alot of years.They were the best public school AA girls team in the state.Unfortunately as a public school you can't reload with a broad recruiting base like the privates,so when a public school makes it to a state title game it's like hitting the lottery.You need a good program and a lot of luck to have enough quality kids to put together a run.That being said I would love to see all you public school haters just try to coach a public small school deep into the playoffs consistently.Not gonna happen.It is a numbers thing and all you private school lovers know it.I feel bad for the Claysburgs and C Valleys and teams that in recent years have made deep runs into the playoffs only to lose to privates.I'll bet York Catholic will see quite a few more state championship games long after this group has gone.Why? Numbers! Yeah I'm sure they have a good coaching staff etc, but dynastys like this boil down to more bodies and a better chances to advance in a small school division.The chants that these peole came up with however unamusing to some speak volumes of truth.Here's an idea since this is America let's vote on whether or not private schools should be put into there own classification.But I think we already know what the outcome of that vote would be.I also would like to say I have no ties what so ever to the aformentioned schools.That being said congrats to York Catholic and a bigger congrats to N.Cambria for bucking the odds!

Take a look at the final 4 in A and AA boys and girls not only this year but the past 15 or so!

this year-Jeanette.....Northeast...Strawberry Mansion.....Imhotep Charter
year before Beaver Falls Alliquipa Imhotep and prep charter
year before that Beaver Falls and the Quips and Prep won it all but i forget who they beat in the east nevertheless not 1 catholic school has been mentioned in the final 4 in the boys the past 3 years


Maybe the catholics are recruiting girls who knows? but the boys it seems to be an equal playing field maybe im not reading into it correctly?


I do realize Delone Catholic/York Catholic have won 6 straight state titles in the girls...But go watch the CYO State Tournaments..Its good basketball thats where they are getting their talent....Im not defending these 2 schools cause i could care less about them but be informed when you think a team recruits. I for one do not think its recruiting when you play parochial and go to the High School where the parochial system is designed for you to go

Just did a check of the past 15 years of final 4 teams in boys and girls A and AA schools.Did it fast so I won't guarantee 100% the results as I had to guess on a few schools as to whether public or private but here goes.By my count the private schools were represented 85 times as compared to 34 by the public ones.This should speak volumes as to the problem! Like I said it may not be 100% but it is dang close.I bet that there aren't twice as many private schools in A and AA as public.Face up, there is a big problem!

A 9 catholic 1 Christian 1 charter 1...uhh Scotland School orphan school i think? 22 public
AA 6 Catholc 1 Prep 1 Charter 26 public
AAA 3 catholic 1 prep 30 public
AAAA 1 catholic 34 public


I'm not seeing any numbers over half?


But seriously you think your right i think im right private v. public will go on forever we can sit here and look up facts all night but the confrence tourneys are on soo im going to go enjoy those
