TAE Top 25 Wk 10!!!!

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

Here are the rules: You win the national title, you stay on top until you lose. I don't care if you lose all 22 starters, your coach goes to the NFL, and your mascot gets raped. I will determine how many spots you fall.

ON DECK:
----------------

1. The winner of Pitt and Notre Dame will get into the rankings next week.
2. Central Michigan has Indiana this week, and I'm intrigued.
3. Cal has Oregon this week.

1. ALABAMA (8-0) (1)
=WK 1=
Looked excellent versus Clemson. This week they crush Tulane. =WK 2= Tulane showed signs of life for the first time in years, but the Tide prevailed. Western Kentucky this week. =WK 4= No trouble last week with WKU, this week... oh man. This week Bobby Petrino sees how a real coach does it. =WK 5= Destroyed Arkansas. This week they get a massive test against Georgia on the road. Its hard to bet against Nick Saban, but I think UGA just has too much for Alabama... in 2008. =Wk 6= I didnt think lightning would strike twice for the Tide in 08, but it did. They are 2-0 on the road against top ranked programs, and if they keep this up it will be a colossal 1 vs 2 in the TAE Top 25 in a few weeks, in Baton Rouge. Gotta get past 4-0 UK this week, though. =Wk 7= I'm fearing that Alabama's youth is going to cause them to drop a game. You have got to show up each and every week, especially in the SEC. Its tough to get young players to do that. Still though, a win is a win, and UK was undefeated, regardless. Off this week. =Wk 8= Wow, Darth Vader is number 1 in the land on a bye week, in only his second season! It is not fair to have Texas jump Alabama when Alabama did not play this week. They will get a huge battle from Ole Miss at home this weekend. =Wk 9= Good win over a tough Ole Miss squad. Alabama is not crushing people, but they find ways to win. They lacked toughness in the past, and no matter how much you hate their head coach, you cannot deny the toughness he brings. This week they get Oklahoma State, and I think it'll end up just like last weekend when Texas pummelled Missouri. Phil Fulmer has pulled wins out of his rear-end before, and he'll get his chance this week as his Volunteers take on Alabama. =Wk 10= This Tennessee team has got to be the worst installment of Tennessee football I have ever seen in my life. Alabama started slow, but ended up blowing the doors wide open. Arkansas State this week.

2. TEXAS (8-0) (2)
WK 1=
Looked impressive against a good FAU squad. Should murder UTEP. =WK 2= No real trouble in this non-existent rivalry. Still think this team lacks the physicality to do anything other than waste my time. Anything less than a 30-pt win this week against garbage Arkansas would be a disappointment. But... Texas will win close because they are Texas. =WK 4= Arkansas game was postponed, and Arkansas better be glad it was. Texas and Rice have a long and storied rivalry, which is evident in how they schedule eachother every year. UT by 25. =WK 5= Very little trouble with Rice. If Texas doesn't beat Arkansas by 25, them then there's something wrong with them. =Wk 6= I'm worried about the running game, as are a lot of folks. Defensively, secondary must get better in a hurry. They have Colorado this weekend, a team that will give McCoy a nice test. =Wk 7= Had no trouble with a decent Colorado squad. Running game looked a little better this week, and they are gonna need a balance to beat OU in the Red River Rivalry. Biggest game of the year for both teams, and I would not be surprised if UT pulled the upset. =Wk 8= Had a monster effort against OU and won the game. There is no doubt that the motivation on this team has increased dramatically with those 2 new coaches, Muschamp and Applewhite. I did not think it would happen this quickly. McCoy is playing out of his mind. This week they get Missouri in Austin, and should be able to move the ball pretty well. =Wk 9= It is looking like Missouri was pretty overrated, and Texas basically sealed that coffin for them. This is probably the best team in the country, and they are really looking like title contenders. McCoy has got to be a Heisman frontrunner. They'll handle Oklahoma State. =Wk 10= Very tough game against an oSu squad that has been getting a lot better but still makes amateur mistakes. Texas played well again and is worthy of their hype. Texas Tech this week in Lubbock, and I'm not sure who to pick yet.

3. PENN STATE (9-0) (3)
WK 1=
Got a lot of experience all around against helpless Coastal Carolina. Will get a big defensive test this week against Oregon State. =WK 2= No trouble at all with a team that should have given them trouble. This week they beat Syracuse by video-game numbers. =WK 4= It got ugly quickly. This week, Lions take on Temple. Getting a little old. =WK 5= Bowman had a monster game (3 sacks, a fumble, and a pick) and Penn State is going to need those kinds of numbers against this Illinois squad. If Williams is on-target, and he can spread the defense and then make plays with his feet, PSU will be in for a long night. =Wk 6= Liked what I saw from PSU when they were faced with adversity. This team has some really nice depth on both sides of the football. This week, they get what I consider the best test of the season so far. Purdue is a team with WRs who are unknowns outside of West Lafayette, but Painter might be the best QB in the conference. I am anxious to see how the secondary handles a QB who can place the ball where he wants. =Wk 7= Lions didn't look horrible, but grounded out a win. Purdue is the one team PSU will face this year that throws a lot, and now that test has been passed. They are heading into a dangerous place against a team with their backs to the wall. Will be a big measure of their mettle, but after seeing both teams numerous times this season, Penn State is better than Wisconsin, even in Madison. =Wk 8= Destroyed Wisconsin on the road, but what ppl should be walking away with is the fact that PSU has NOT played conservatively on the road yet, as they normally do. They get Michigan this week, and I am guessing they will want to pound UM into the dirt. =Wk 9= Started off pretty shaky, was down at halftime, but made the adjustments and crushed UM in the second half. Nice thing was that Williams was neutralized altogether and Penn State still played as well as they did. Huge game against Ohio State this week in Columbus, where PSU has not played very well. =Wk 10= It was a very defensive game, and Penn State showed why they are deserving of the hype they have gotten. They played complete mistake free football and won a game in a stadium that had been haunting them since they joined the Big Ten. Excellent morale boost.

4. FLORIDA (6-1) (4)
WK 1=
Took awhile to crush Hawaii, might be a bit overrated. They have a tough rivalry game against the Canes this week. =WK 2= Were tested by a hated rival, but ultimately won big. =WK 4= Was off in week 3, this week they get a Tennessee team that is terrible. No chance. UF by 30. =WK 5= Blowout win over a Tennessee team that just seems lost. I have a feeling that UF will get a dogfight from Ole Miss. They'll win, but i would not be surprised to see this game end up 17-10. =Wk 6= Statistically, UF did a nice job in this game. But as I said, Ole Miss is a very tough football team, and are being very overlooked nationally. Of course after the game, Meyer whined as usual. I'm getting a little tired of it. It wouldn't hurt Meyer to take in a coaching clinic run by his colleague in Tuscaloosa, so he learns how to toughen up a little bit. =Wk 7= Crushed Arkansas. This week they host LSU, and who knows which UF team will show up. =Wk 8= When UF plays like they give a 'crap', they are without question one of the top teams in the nation. They killed LSU. =Wk 9= Was off this week. Was this the 3rd off week for Florida? Kentucky this week. =Wk 10= That right there is the UF team I have been waiting for: 63 points in a crushing win over a conference rival. This is without question one of the very best teams in the country, can beat anyone, when they decide they want to play. I have a theory that all teams on any level are direct reflections of their head coach. Is there any question as to why Florida is so flaky? Georgia this week, this game needs no intro.

5. USC (6-1) (5)
WK 1=
Probably the most impressive win of the week, but Virginia sucks. =WK 2= As a Big Ten fan I am dreading this upcoming game against Ohio State. With or without Wells. USC has the best coaching staff in the nation. =WK 4= Probably the best team in the nation. That Ohio State game was over 4-mins into the 2nd quarter. I was very impressed with USC at each position. =WK 5= Was off this week, which gave them an extra 4 days to get ready for this week's Pac-10 opener with Oregon State. =Wk 6= At some point, Pete Carroll has got to become accountable for this team losing games they should win by 30 points. I am speechless as to how a group of kids this talented can become so unmotivated at random points in the conference scheduling. That's coaching, folks. Should be able to rebound against a headless Oregon. =Wk 7= Blowout win over an Oregon team that is pretty decent. Shouldn't have any trouble with ASU. =Wk 8= Crushed ASU. Who hasn't? They'll beat WAZZOU by 70. =Wk 9= Well, they won by 69. This week they battle Arizona. =Wk 10= Close win over an Arizona team that the media tried to portray as credible. Are you serious? Arizona sucks. This week, USC will put 60 on Washington.

6. GEORGIA (7-1) (7)
WK 1=
Something about this team just doesn't sit well with me. =WK 2= Anoth unimpressive win, and for this team being the preseason number 1, they sure dont get much press. Even with this week's game against So. Carolina being a conference battle, I'm not expecting much of a game. =WK 4= They make mistakes and they have weird coverage. This team is in a lot of trouble when they play Florida. This week? Arizona State. Nothing special. =WK 5= Went out to the desert and had little trouble with a very overrated Arizona State squad. Word on the street is that they are wearing the black tops for this Alabama game. They're gonna need all the magic they can get. =Wk 6= I was actually embarrassed for Georgia that they showed up last weekend and played the way they did. Outfoxed by the master. Join the club. =Wk 7= Was off this week, and needed it. The host Tennessee this week, I wonder if they'll wear the black jerseys? I am expecting Tennessee to really be up for this game, and push Georgia. =Wk 8= Not much trouble with a Tennessee team who is clueless right now. Vanderbilt this week, big game for both teams. Should be able to kick Vandy out of the top 25. =Wk 9= Nice win over a decent Vandy squad. Huge SEC game this week against LSU. =Wk 10= Was surprised at how Georgia handled LSU so easily on offense. That's a bigtime win on the road. We'll see how this staff plans on containing Florida, which they will not be able to do.

7. OKLAHOMA (7-1) (10)
WK 1=
Should get a nice test this week against Cincinnati. =WK 2= The Nati hung with them for awhile, but OU covered even a 21 point spread. Washington will probably have something to prove this week, and I am expecting OU to run the score up en route to looking once again like the nation's top team before they lose to someone like Baylor. =WK 4= They look good but Oklahoma always pulls an Oklahoma. =WK 5= Is this the week that OU lives up to their reputation? They get a very tough TCU at home... an opponent from a conference that is pulling many upsets. =Wk 6= Little trouble with a good TCU squad. Should throttle Baylor. =Wk 7= Might be the best team in the nation, but have not been tested yet. They simply have not played anyone yet. Its tough to get your first test against the biggest rival on the schedule but that is what OU is facing this week in Dallas. Should be a great game. =Wk 8= Chokelahoma did it again, this time in the Cotton Bowl. You cannot have a team of 5-star players and just expect to win on talent. You need leaders, which OU has none. Should be able to handle Kansas this week in Norman, on the rebound. =Wk 9= Took care of Kansas, another North team that seems pretty overrated. Shouldn't have any trouble with Kansas State. =Wk 10= Plastered K-State, but who hasn't? This team has an immense level of talent and no leaders whatsoever, though. They'll choke again this season at some point, but it won't be against Nebraska.

8. UTAH (8-0) (11)
WK 1=
Beat Michigan in the Big House. Will get win 2 versus UNLV as they march ahead to that BYU game. =WK 2= Struggled for awhile with UNLV, but those teams are rivals. Speaking of rivals, Utes get Utah State this week, and even though it seems lopsided, anything can happen in a rivalry game. =WK 4= Nice rivalry win over Utah State. They have Air Force this week, and this will be an awesome game. =WK 5= Showed a lot of poise in that win over AFA. They get their cake game this week against Weber State, who actually gave Hawaii a nice battle. =Wk 6= Took care of Weber State. =Wk 7= Gritty win over a good Oregon state team, and were helped by Oregon State's coaching blunders. Still, though, Johnson had a horrible game until it counted in the end, and he played marvelously. This team is not as good as BYU, but they do have some charisma and a lot of confidence. Should throttle Wyoming. =Wk 8= Beat the hell out of Wyoming and just keeps moving towards that showdown w/ BYU. Colorado State this weekend. =Wk 9= No trouble with Utah State, as predicted. =Wk 10= Had a bye last week. Will crush New Mexico.

9. TEXAS TECH (8-0) (12)
WK 1=
Big-time test this week against Nevada, coming off a closer-than-we'd-like win over a I-AA school. I have a feeling this season is going down in flames. =WK 2= Another less than stellar game, but Nevada is better than people think. Big win over SMU this week coming up. =WK 4= This team is going to lose 3 games. Mark it down. 3 regular season games. Big matchup this week against Umass, buddy. =WK 5= How pathetic can you get? Two wins over I-AA teams. I'm embarrassed for not punishing Tech sooner. =Wk 6= These idiots dont play anyone for another month. =Wk 7= You've got to beat people who are better than Kansas State. Seriously. This AD should be given an award for somehow aligning the worst schedule of the first 2 months. The good thing is that no one is even mentioning Texas Tech right now. This week they will beat Nebraska by 50 just like Missouri did. =Wk 8= Almost lost to NU in overtime! Does it even need to be mentioned how overrated this program really is? I mean come on now. They're clearly losing 3 games this season, at least. Smell the ratings for this week's game against A&M. =Wk 9= Struggled for a long time with A&M, looks like this defense is still shaky as in years past. Leach still makes very strange decisions, and it seems like this program once again won't be able to get out of its own way. They finally play a "decent" opponent this week in Kansas, and I would not be surprised to see this upset. =Wk 10= The way they pounded Kansas made everyone take notice. But this program will never be taken seriously until they can beat Texas. They very well may this week, when they get the Horns at home in Lubbock.

10. BOISE STATE (8-0) (13)
=WK 5= They are off this week after a big win over BCS Oregon. =Wk 6= There is a great possibility that this Boise squad will be undefeated going into the last 2 weeks of the season. Nevada and Fresno in those 2 weeks. This weekend, Broncs play host to Louisiana Tech. =Wk 7= No trouble with La Tech, this week they head to Hattiesburg to take on a struggling USM. =Wk 8= Took care of USM ion the road, still looking impressive per usual. With nevada being so inconsistent (and also Fresno) there's no reason Boise doesn't win this conference again. This week the Broncs take on a Hawaii team on a 2-game winning streak. =Wk 9= Not much trouble with Hoo-i-hee. I'm not sure this Boise team is as good as years past, but they're gonna win this conference again and go undefeated doing it. Good matchup this week against San Jose State. =Wk 10= Took care of a nice SJSU team. All this program does is win games. New Mexico State this week.

11. TULSA (8-0) (14)
=WK 5= Probably should have been ranked earlier, being that I picked them to go to the BCS. They have Central Arkansas this week, and if you get a chance, take a look at Central Arkansas's QB. This kid is getting a lot of hype, and might even end up getting drafted. =Wk 6= The job Gus Malzahn has done with this QB (a first-year starter) is remarkable. Rice this week in a game that is closer than Tulsans would like. =Wk 7= No trouble at all with a high-powered Rice offense. They travel to The Hill this week to crush SMU. =Wk 8= Close call in Dallas against SMU, need to play better than that. In their defense, SMU does throw 800 times a game. UTEP this week at home. =Wk 9= Pretty sure David Johnson broke the NCAA record for a passing TD when he and a WR hooked up for a 90+ TD. Either way, unfortunately, this team is going to get screwed in the end, because they are gonna go undefeated and not be considered for the BCS. UCF this week. =Wk 10= Started rather slowly against UCF, but once they got rolling, it was a bloodbath, as predicted. The game this weekend against Arkansas is enormous. Tulsa has been playing a little worse than they have been all year, and Arkansas is showing signs of life.

12. TCU (8-1) (18)
=WK 5= This might be the most underrated team in the country. They get Oklahoma this week on the road, and this is a category 3 upset alert. OU has a reputation of laying eggs, and TCU has a reputation of playing up to their level of competition (and also of playing down to it!) so this should be a huge contest. =Wk 6= Not a very good showing in Norman, but conference play will start soon enough. =Wk 7= Crushed San Diego State, this week they will take on a Colorado State team who everyone had as a doormat in the preseason, but is showing a lot of life. =Wk 8= Diffused a Colorado Satte team that is playing well. TCU is back on track. Until this weekend when they play BYU. =Wk 9= Huge, huge win over conference rival BYU, whom everyone had playing in a BCS game. This team really needs to stay consistent. Will crush Wyoming. =Wk 10= If that Wyoming had any hope of sticking around for another season, he can kiss that goodbye. UNLV will test this team.

13. OHIO STATE (7-2) (6)
WK 1=
Not the most impressive win, but they're the best team in the nation on paper. They get Ohio this week. I don't like how they have thrown Pryor out there already just to keep up appearances. =WK 2= They might lose to USC by 40 points. =WK 4= I don't even know what to say. If this is the best team in the Big Ten, this conference doesn't deserve a BCS bid. Flat-footed against USC is an understatement. This week, they take on Troy. They'll beat Troy by 15 meager points. =WK 5= Todd Boekman should never take another snap. Bucks open Big Ten play against a Minnesota team who seems to be getting better every week. =Wk 6= Beat Minnesota in the Big Ten opener, and that's all well and good, but even with Wells and Pryor, this team is still looking sluggish. Wisconsin this week should be a big test of OSU's mettle. So far, I'm not so sure I like what Jim Tressel is cooking. =Wk 7= Wins are wins in conference play. But like I said before, even with Wells back, this team has no explosiveness. I am dumbfounded as to why this defense is so unmotivated. But, they're undefeated in the conference. OSU looks to me like the slowest team on Earth. Should handle Purdue with ease. =Wk 8= Its hard to not put OSU high on a list of teams, because they do have a lot of talent. HOWEVER... this team continues to be completely flat and uninspired. They did not score 1 offensive TD in that game. Wells has made ZERO difference. Enormous road game this week against Michigan State. =Wk 9= Tap the breaks on how Ohio State beat MSU so handedly. MSU got down quick, froze up, panicked, and the game was over. Better not take PSU lightly this week, and will need a massive defensive effort to win this one. =Wk 10= Lost another game against a top-ranked team, this time in their own backyard. When is Jim Tressel going to be held accountable for this madness? Looks like I was right all along when I said that the MSU game was NOT evidence of OSU being great. And once again, guess who disappeared completely? If you said James Laurenitis, you are correct, sir.

14. BYU (7-1) (19)
WK 1=
Nice win over a garbage opponent. Will get a big test versus Washington this week. =WK 2= It was a terrible call in the U-Dub game, but don't hold it against BYU. They blocked the kick when it counted. The BYU Pac-10 tour continues this week against an energized UCLA. =WK 4= Complete annihalation of UCLA. This week the second teamers get in by mid-quarter when BYU scores 90 on a Wyoming squad that almost lost to North Dakota State. =WK 5= Blowout over Wyoming, BYU is firing on all cylinders. =Wk 6= Utah State this week. Yikes. =Wk 7= Still looking great, killed Utah State. New Mexico this week. =Wk 8= BYU dropped this week in my top 25 because of circumstance. Beat New Mexico. This week they get TCU, should be a great test. =Wk 9= Blowout loss to Texas Christian on the road. Nice rebound this week against a decent UNLV. =Wk 10= UNLV took them to the brink, but ultimately shot themselves in the foot. Will get another decent test versus Colorado State.

15. LSU (5-2) (8)
=WK 1=
Beat Appalachian State handily. Thank God Walter noticed how I strayed from my own Top 25 heritage and he slapped some sense into me. =WK 2= Had a bye this week as the battle against Nicholls State was postponed due to people crying over the weather again. Big game against TAE's own Mean Green this week. =WK 4= Finally get a decent opponent this week, key word is decent. Should not have as much trouble with Auburn as many would like to believe. =WK 5= Very gritty performance against Auburn on the road, got a huge conference win. This week its more SEC carnage as they take on an MSU team that always gives people nightmares. =Wk 6= Is this the most underrated team in America right now? LSU is a tough, gritty team who just wins. =Wk 7= Had a bye week last weekend, this weekend they travel to the Swamp for a huge matchup against Florida. =Wk 8= Got chomped up pretty good in Ganesville and lost their number 1 ranking. Big game this weekend against South Carolina. =Wk 9= It took a bigtime effort, but they pulled out the road win in Columbia against a resurging SC squad. This week they get Georgia, with major implications. =Wk 10= Just could not keep up with Georgia, in their own backyard. Gotta get this offense going, Les Miles. Rebound this week against Tulane.

16. OKLAHOMA STATE (7-1) (9)
WK 3=
oSu is a very dangerous team, especially on offense. Zac Robinson is probably the most underrated QB in the BCS. =WK 4= They're off this week. =WK 5= Had a bye week to prepare for a good Troy team. =Wk 6= Sneaking around the national chickencoop is Oklahoma State. Beat a good Troy team. This week they should crush an A&M team that almost lost to Army. =Wk 7= Huge, huge battle on the road this week against Missouri. This offense is very balanced and is definitely amongst the nation's best. =Wk 8= Huge win over Missouri. Mike Gundy is doing an excellent job with this program. Listening to him talk, he has a heavy accent and sounds borderline retarded. But he is actually a very good coach, and has a stable of horses this year that have already made tremendous headway in a conference that is loaded with good teams this season. Baylor this week. =Wk 9= Took care of Baylor. This week we get to see how good this team really is when they take on the best team in the country. Should be loss number 1 for the Cowpokes. =Wk 10= This program gained the respect of virtually everyone when they lost to Texas this week. This team is for real, and the showdown against Oklahoma will be amazing. Another win this week against Iowa State.

17. BALL STATE (8-0) (16)
WK 3=
They are Indiana away from an undefeated season. Took care of Akron last week. =WK 4= This is it, Indiana is here. Ball State is getting their Top 25 shot, let's see if this team is for real. I think they are. =WK 5= Crushed Indiana, but the real story was the injury to Dante Love. This is a major loss for the team, but from watching Ball State in 2 games, I honestly believe this is still the best team in the MAC, they have a favorable schedule, and they have players who are extremely talented but not quite AS talented as Love. This team is going undefeated. Shouldn't have much trouble with Kent. =Wk 6= Soaring under the radar still, but here at Team TAE, we love dem Cards. =Wk 7= No trouble at all with Toledo, but they are going to get a very big test this week against a team who is really, really under the radar: Western Michigan. =Wk 8= Did NOT play WMU, played Western Kentucky. Me stoopid. Not a huge win, but a win nonetheless. Off this week, probably need it. =Wk 9= Had a bye this weekend, get another win this week against EMU. =Wk 10= It seems like this team is slowing down a bit. A win is a win, but I'm worried about CMU and WMU. Off this week.

18. MISSOURI (6-2) (20)
WK 1=
Great win against a top 25 school. =WK 2= Big cupcake win. This week they get Nevada. If that Nevada defense learned anything from Texas Tech last week, this could be a great game. =WK 4= Well, it wasnt a great game, or even a good game. Missouri continues to wallop people. They should skate through the North. Poor Buffalo. They really are making progress, but this week they get pounded. =WK 5= Had more trouble with the Bulls than what the score indicated, but ultimately won by 3 TD's. =Wk 6= At Nebraska is never a place you wanna play. But I think this Missouri squad is about to put the hammer down in Lincoln. =Wk 7= Blew the doors off Nebraska in Lincoln, and showed a surprising offensive balance. They'll need it this week at home against an Oklahoma State team who is under everyone's radar. =Wk 8= Lost a heartbreaker to Oklahoma State at home, seems like there may be some weaknesses in this defense. Huge game in Austin this weekend against Texas, a great chance for redemption. =Wk 9= This team was probably pretty overrated all year, and this defense has some serious problems. Still though, they should win the North, and get pummeled again by Texas. Will rebound this week against Colorado. =Wk 10= Well, there's no better way to get back on track and boost morale than to beat a conference opponent by 60 points. Will probably put 50 on Baylor this week.

19. MARYLAND (6-2) (22)
=Wk 9= Maryland is driving me nuts. This team is good, they just need to be consistent! Took care of a good Wake team this week in impressive fashion. NC State this week. =Wk 10= Very well could be the best team in the ACC.

20. FLORIDA STATE (6-1) (23)
=Wk 9= When this team plays at their potential, look out. Still need to get this running game in check, but Ponder is playing well. Defense is very good. Would not be surprised if FSU won the ACC. Had a nice win over NC State last week. I have a feeling they'll throttle Virginia Tech. =Wk 10= They looked good against V-Tech, and that's a big win for this team. FSU seems to be poised to make a serious run at this title. We'll see how good the FSU front 7 really is this week against Georgia Tech.

21. NORTH CAROLINA (6-2) (NR)
=WK 3= They have the horses to make a lot of headway this year. Might be the best WR corps in the nation. =WK 4= We'll see what they are made of this week against a V-Tech squad who still sucks but has a couple nice players. =WK 5= Yates went down with an injury, and everything fell apart. They almost pulled off the win, though. UNC is still a year or so away, but they are doing great. Heels get the Canes this week, in what should be an awesome matchup. Its a little less stellar with Yates on the sideline, but both these programs have something to prove. =Wk 6= Huge play in the endzone to steal the victory from the Canes. Sexton played a nice game in Yates' absence. They get a paper-thin UCONN team at home this week. =Wk 7= Crushed undefeated UCONN at home, looking impressive in a bad conference. They get a ND team at home this week, a big game for both programs. =Wk 8= Very close win over a ND team that is better than I figured they were. With Sexton back there, this team makes me uneasy. Virginia this week, should be able to shut them down defensively. =Wk 9= Was the latest victim of the ACC shuffle. Have no idea how good this team is, or anyone else in this conference, but they better find a better QB than Sexton. Can get right back into things this week with a win over Boston College. =Wk 10= Beat a BC team that had been doing well, and seems to be back on track.

22. SOUTH FLORIDA (6-2) (15)
WK 1=
Looked pretty solid in week 1, should have a battle in week 2 against UCF. =WK 2= Beat UCF in OT. Should be able to finally end all this Kansas nonsense this week. =WK 4= Thank God they beat Kansas. Showed a lot of poise in that comeback, but I am still worried about this team laying a massive egg. Bulls get FIU this week. Haven't seen FIU yet (one of about 3-4 teams I havent seen) but I dont think I'm missing much. =WK 5= Yeah, I didn't miss much. They're going to pummel NC State. =Wk 6= No problem with garbage NCSU, as predicted. This game this week against Pitt is the biggest game of the year so far for the Bulls. Not Kansas, not UCF, it is Pitt. USF has a history of choking mightily come conference time. =Wk 7= Laid their conference egg per usual. Lost to a Pitt team who is slowly getting better while USF continues to mishandle any hype. That's a reflection of coaching, folks. Expect USF to lose a few more conference games, even in a bad Big East. A much needed bye this week. =Wk 8= Was off this weekend, and needed it. Basically another bye this week when they take on Syracuse. =Wk 9= Not much trouble with the Cuse. Real travesty of this game was the fact that USF wore those stupid white pants. Louisville is up next, they've been playing a little better, but USF shouldn't have any trouble. =Wk 10= Take a guess if USF pulled a USF and dropped another conference game, this time to Louisville. Cincinnati this weekend.

23. MICHIGAN STATE (7-2) (NR)
=Wk 8= Nice win over Northwestern, this week they see how good they really are when they take on Ohio State at East Lansing. This team is pretty one dimensional on offense, and defensively they are playing very well. They very well may beat Ohio State, the way OSU has been "playing". =Wk 9= Got down early to Ohio State, froze up, and the game was a wash. Played very poorly on both sides of the ball, very sloppy. Biggest game of the year this week against Michigan. =Wk 10= Got off the schnide this week against a Michigan team that had been kicking their a's at home. Ringer had another monster game. He'll have another this week versus Wisconsin.

24. OREGON (NR)(6-2)
=WK 1=
Showed some nice stuff against UW, keep an eye on this Johnson kid. =WK 2= I wish I could say this team was for real. But in the end, Oregon will pull an Oregon and lose two or three games. Ducks travel to Purdue this week, and I am expecting a blowout win over annually-overrated Purdue. =WK 4= Won a tough squeaker on the road, but lost their QB in the process. Boise this week, and I'm not sure that back-up (who himself is the back-up) can beat Boise. =WK 5= Lost to a very good Boise State squad. Oregon has bigtime QB woes now that those kids are injured. It might be a long year. Should be able to squeak out a win over Washington State. =Wk 6= They beat WAZZOU, but this team has enormous problems behind center. Poor Oregon. This week they get a USC squad that will probably try to run the score up. =Wk 7= Crushed by USC. Should handle UCLA without any problems. =Wk 8= Wasn't a great win, but they pulled it out. =Wk 9= Was off this past week. Should be able to take care of Arizona State. =Wk 10= Pounded Arizona State, looking like the 2nd best team in the Pac-10 and that statement doesn't really mean much, but they'll get a nice bowl bid. Cal this week in a must-win for both teams.

25. MINNESOTA (7-1) (NR)
=Wk 10= The Gophers make their first entry into the TAE Top 25, and people are sobbing tears of happiness in Minneapolis. The Gophers are playing much better than the national media wants you to believe. Tim Brewster is on the verge of the biggest turnaround in college football history. Took care of Purdue last week, this week they get Northwestern.

HONORABLE MENTION (in no order):
==================================

Clemson (3-4), Stanford (4-4), Colorado (4-4), Louisville (5-2), Arkansas State (4-3), Nebraska (5-3), Rice (5-3), Arizona (5-3), Fresno State (4-2), Iowa (5-3), UNLV (3-4), ECU (4-3), WVU (5-2), Cal (6-2), UCLA (3-5), ASU (2-5), South Carolina (5-3), Duke (4-3), UCONN (6-2), Kentucky (5-3), Central Michigan (6-2), Air Force (5-2), Cincinnati (5-2)

FALLING FROM RANKINGS:
===============================

NORTHWESTERN (6-2) (24)
=Wk 9= This team is decent. They aren't going to win the conference, but they've shown a lot of progress from last season. Should beat Indiana soundly. =Wk 10= Here it comes. It is always inevitable. Northwestern goes 6-0 and then 7-5. How do you lose to Indiana?

GEORGIA TECH (6-2) (25)
=Wk 9= Another tough, gritty win, and they beat an inspired Clemson team in Clemson. No, they have NO passing attack right now, but all this team does is win games. Pretty impressive how most of these kids have adapted to the Paul Johnson offense. Plus, this team has got some dang good DT's! They play Virginia this week, and Lord knows how this will play out. =Wk 10= Lost to a surging Virginia, as many expected. Still doing way better than anyone expected, though. Gonna have to execute mightily this week if they wanna beat FSU.

BOSTON COLLEGE (5-2) (21)
=Wk 9= This team is better than everyone expected. They knocked off a decent V-Tech team but shutting down the run and forcing Tech to pass, which they cannot do, and they have 4 other wins. Can't name a player on their roster, but BC is getting their shot in the top 25. Let's see what they can do this week against UNC. =Wk 10= Was not nearly as competitive in Chapel Hill as people imagined they would be. Another ACC team who is simply baffling. Should be able to give Clemson another loss.

PITTSBURGH (5-2) (17)
=Wk 7= Need a B-12 shot, and got it against USF last Thursday night. Pitt has been slowly making it back into the realm of relevance since that horrible loss to Bowling Green. This team is definitely in a prime position to win this conference, and may even go 11-1. Bye this week. =Wk 8= Was off last weekend, Navy this week on the road. Pitt is going to get a bigtime test this weekend in Anapolis. Navy has been playing very well. =Wk 9= Went down to Annapolis and soundly defeated a good Navy team. It was a big week for the Panthers, who added 2 4-star Offensive weapons as well in their recruiting class. Pitt looks like the best team in the conference. Shouldn't have much trouble with Rutgers. =Wk 10= It doesn't even make rational sense as to why this team can't take the next step. They gave up 54 points and 6 TDs to a bad quarterback on a team that is garbage this season. Who knows. And who knows what to expect this week when Pitt travels to South Bend.

VIRGINIA TECH (5-3)
=WK 6=
As bad as this ACC really is, you have to give VTech credit for back to back gritty wins over pretty good teams: North Carolina and Nebraska. Taylor is making enough plays to win games. By no means is this team good, but they are a little above average. =Wk 7= Beat Western Kentucky, this week they get a bye. =Wk 8= Had a bye heading into this weekend. Boston College is still up in the air, no one really knows how good they are. Beamer should be able to win another one regardless. =Wk 9= Was surprised in Chestnut Hill by the Eagles. V-Tech has zero passing game and it cost them bigtime. Huge ACC battle this week with Florida State. =Wk 10= The only thing worse than Tyrod Taylor is Sean Glennon, and thank Christ Sean Glennon was injured this week. Although it is quite comical to see him weave his magic (that is, his magical prowess to turn the ball over at any waking moment) he was injured this week and some other bonehead went in there and lost.

WAKE FOREST (4-3)
WK 1=
No trouble with Baylor. I have them losing this week to Ole Miss. =WK 2= Showed alot of character against Ole Miss when they drove down the field, against the momentum, and won that game. Maybe Wake Forest is pretty good after all. =WK 4= Was off in week 3. FSU this week, and I can't wait to see Wake pound them just to show those idiots that beating 2 I-AA teams should NOT get you ranked! =WK 5= They tried very hard to lose that game to FSU, but luckily for Wake, those FSU QB's wanted that loss just a little more than Wake Forest did. They get Navy this week, a matchup problem for any team. =Wk 6= How bad is this ACC? They are "That Bad". =Wk 7= Clemson this week, who the hell knows which Clemson or Wake teams will even show up. =Wk 8= Took care of a very bad Clemson squad. Wake is still looking like a serious contender for this conference, despite them falling off the radar after that Navy loss. Maryland this week, who knows what teams show up. =Wk 9= Was shutout for the first time since 1998. Maryland is a very strange team who can beat anyone and lose to anyone. Wake was the latest victim. Hurricanes this week. =Wk 10= No idea what to make of this program. Lost to Miami this weekend. You would think they would beat Duke this week, right?

VANDERBILT (5-3)
=WK 5= Vandy gets a breather after starting the season 4-0 and pulling out an awesome win over a very good Ole Miss team. =Wk 6= Coming off a bye, they get Auburn. Well, Vandy, you were ranked for a few weeks. Time to go back to Nashville and hang out with George Strait and Young Buck. Look on the bright side, Cutler is having a great season. =Wk 7= Huge win for Vandy when they knocked off Auburn. Bobby Johnson has done an insane job at Vanderbilt, a program that was complete garbage before he came. This week they get Mississisppi State, and I am expecting a dogfight. =Wk 8= I guess its true that all games in the SEC are just as important as the rest. Lost to a MSU squad that I figured did not even have an offensive player on their roster. Georgia this week, huge chance to get back in the spotlight. Georgia has shown propencity to be ill-prepared. =Wk 9= Lost a road game to Georgia, and Vandy makes its exit from the Top 25. Duke is up next for the Commies, should be a nice matchup. =Wk 10= You can't lose to ACC teams in the non-conference scheduling if you want to make headway, dudes.

KANSAS (5-3)
=WK 1=
Very, very overrated but they aren't horrible. They'll get a major test against Louisiana Tech this week. =WK 2= If that was a major test, KU is the best team in the nation. They aren't. They aren't even "good". Finally playing a decent team for the first time in 2 seasons this week. =WK 4= Lost to USF after having a huge lead. This program is not mature enough yet. I'm glad they lost, because Kansas makes me sick. Sam Houston State this week. =WK 5= There should be a rule that no Kansas teams are allowed to play I-AA opponents for 10 seasons, since they schedule 4 of them every year. =Wk 6= Another gimme week: Iowa State. =Wk 7= Had to come back from a big deficit to beat ISU, and I couldn't possibly care any less about Kansas. Colorado this week, should be a great game. =Wk 8= By looking at the rest of the unranked teams, I guess Kansas is the best of them. Still a very overrated team, but they aren't horrible. Should finish 2nd in the North, but then again, a lot of HS teams could. OU this week on the road. It was nice having you around for a week. =Wk 9= Had a lot of fight against OU, but just couldn't keep up. Still has a great shot to win the North, though. Kansas has Texas Tech this week, and they have GOT to win a decent game to be considered anything above an average squad. Would not be surprised if Kansas won. =Wk 10= The defensive performance they gave against Texas Tech was anything but impressive. Kansas seems to have dropped back to Earth, thank God. Big rivalry game this week against K-State.

ILLINOIS (4-4)
=WK 1=
Are explosive but might be lacking a bit on defense. =WK 2= Got back on track with a win over an FCS school. Playing a La Lafayette team this week from a conference that already pulled off some nice upsets. =WK 4= Almost lost to Lafayette, and once again it looks like another Big Ten team wasn't worth the hype. =WK 5= Had a bye week to prepare for this week's white-out in Happy Valley. It will take a big effort to beat the Lions at home, and Williams is going to have to get space with his fakes to be able to run. If he is on target with his passes, it might be a long day for the Lions. =Wk 6= Two losses, and I still think this team is good enough to finish 2nd in the Big Ten. They put up a good fight against Penn State. Illinois lost to Penn State because Penn State has speed on offense and a lot of weapons on that offense. Ohio State and Wisconsin do not. =Wk 7= Pulled away from Michigan, this week they should get a nice look from Minnesota at home. =Wk 8= Lost to a team who is actually pretty good. Minnesota did everything they needed to shut Illinois down, and Zook had no answer. Indiana this week. =Wk 9= Took care of a surprisingly bad Indiana team. A win this week over Wisconsin would be nice. =Wk 10= Zook pulled a Zook this week, losing to a Wisconsin team that had lost 4 straight. Nice job, buddy. Iowa this week, who knows.

AUBURN (4-4)
=WK 1=
Can't wait to see Paul Rhodes show his true colors in SEC play. =WK 2= Another yawner. This week they get Miss. State and they will be in a dogfight from start to finish. =WK 4= Beat Mississippi State 3-2 in a very ugly game offensively. They play like that this week against LSU and they'll lose by 20. =WK 5= This offense is a joke. Defense kept it close and will keep all their games close, but there's no reason Auburn was so highly-touted. But even still, they shouldn't have much trouble with Tennessee. =Wk 6= Same colors, some problem. Auburn and the Chicago Bears: awesome defense, offense that couldn't score 25 on a high school team. =Wk 7= Lost to a deceptive Vandy squad, is Paul Rhodes showing his true colors? This week they get their gimme game against Arkansas. =Wk 8= Nice loss to Arkansas, Paul Rhodes. Welcome to the cellar. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, right? Hey, TAE tried to warn ya. =Wk 9= Was off this weekend in preparation for this week's WVU game. Smell the ratings for that pillowfight. =Wk 10= Auburn deserves everything that is happening to their football team. How the hell they lost to WVU, who knows. Paul Rhodes is a genius, Auburn is finding out first-hand. Huge game this week against Ole Miss, and it is totally up for grabs.

WISCONSIN (4-4)
=WK 1=
Ran Hill into the ground for some reason. This week they travel to Fresno State for win 2. =WK 2= I lied, they played Marshall. And struggled for awhile, too. They'll run PJ Hill to death this week as they beat Fresno. =WK 4= Another supposed top-notch Big Ten team, and they have just as many problems as everyone else. This team is not good. They beat an average Fresno. =WK 5= The most unimpressive 3-0 team I may have ever seen. They are about to get a big test versus a Michigan team who is definitely going to sneak up on someone this year. It very well could be this Wisconsin team, who I honestly believe is one of the most overrated programs of the past 30 years probably. =Wk 6= Lost to Michigan in the big house. I dont even know what to say. That W on their helmets stands for "Waste of Everyone's Time" because that's exactly what this program really is. Michigan had 5 turnovers in the first half and Wisconsin was only able to lead this game 19-0. It is seriously pathetic how the media loves Wisconsin, even with the worst resume of any highly-touted program. Bielema actually had the stupidity to say, before this game, "There's no way Michigan can stop PJ Hill." Guess what, Coach? Once again, for the tenth straight season, Wisconsin gets exposed. They have Ohio State this week, and I am rooting for Ohio State to win this game by 60 points. =Wk 7= So basically even with Michigan being down this year, these losers still can't beat the top 2 programs in the conference. Penn State this week, should be a dogfight. =Wk 8= There is no question that Brett Bielema is an idiot. Can't wait till next year when Wisconsin is once again picked to win the Big Ten and then loses 197 conference games. They might actually lose again this week, to Iowa. =Wk 9= Throttled by iowa. Looks like Wisconsin was as bad as I figured. Will probably lose again this week, to Illinois. =Wk 10= Got back to .500 with a win over a decent Illinois team. Beckham is done for the year, which is a blessing in disguise. Michigan State this weekend, expect loss #5 for the Badgers.

OLE MISS (4-4)
=WK 3=
It's hard to justify adding them after beating Samford. But this team is very talented, lost to Wake on a last second 40+ FG, showed tremendous poise to take the lead before that. Very sneaky little team, here. =WK 4= Should get a huge test this week against a deceptive Vanderbilt team. =WK 5= This is the best 2-2 team in the country, and I hope people aren't sleeping on Ole Miss. This team is going to bite someone. I dont think it will be UF this week, but they should be able to make it very interesting none the less. =Wk 6= Without question, Nutt has this team poised for a bright future. Huge, huge win against Florida this past weekend. Need to keep it up though, because they have South Carolina this weekend. =Wk 7= You gotta play every week, fellas. Much needed bye this week. =Wk 8= Was off this past weekend, thank God. The Right Reverand will have his team ready for Alabama. =Wk 9= Couldn't get it done against Alabama, but played pretty well. This is the one everyone was waiting for: Arkansas. =Wk 10= Tough game against Arkansas, but they got the win. Massive SC West game this week against Auburn, and Ole Miss will be ready.

EAST CAROLINA (4-3)
=WK 1=
They actually should have never needed a blocked punt to beat Virginia Tech. They're going to push WVU. =WK 2= Exposed WVU like they get exposed every year, but I honestly dont think this team goes undefeated in the regular season. They're good, though. They have Tulane this week, and do not discount ECU when Tulane gives this a nice test. =WK 4= Struggled with a Tulane team that is a lot better than people think they are. Classic trap game this week against NC State. Wouldn't be surprised to see an upset here. =WK 5= NC State played the game of their lives this year, and will now lose 7 more games. ECU now rests into conference play, and should be a little more down to Earth. They will get a big test this week versus Houston, who gives everyone a matchup problem. =Wk 6= Lost to a Houston team that has me scratching my head. Looks like ECU is finally the team everyone had them pegged to be: 4th in the conference. =Wk 7= Was off last week, this week they take on a Virginia team who beat the hell out of Maryland. =Wk 8= Beat pretty good by a UVA team that has everyone scratching their heads. ECU is just not looking very good. Another toss up this week against Memphis. =Wk 9= Nice win over a semi-good Memphis. =Wk 10= Was off this past week. UCF this week in a big C-USA showdown.

WEST VIRGINIA (5-2)
=WK 1=
Did not look great defensively against a poor Villanova squad. Should get tested versus ECU. =WK 2= Was exposed and shut down by ECU. =WK 4= Didn't play this week. For some reason, Stewart was given a 6-yr extension. Jumping the gun a little bit, fellas? Bigtime test this week on the road against Coloradie. =WK 5= Lost in OT to a decent Colorado squad, and finally got the run game going. In-state rivalry this week against a Marshall squad who looks like they have turned a new leaf. Should be a great game, honestly. =Wk 6= Beat Marshall to get back on track. =Wk 7= Took care of business at home versus Rutgers, Syracuse this week. =Wk 8= Looking better, but still not anywhere near previous forms. =Wk 9= Was off this weekend to get ready for this week's game against Auburn that no one cares about. =Wk 10= Not sure how they pulled it off, but they beat Auburn in the least anticipated game of the season. Would be nice to see they beat a very bad UCONN this week.

CALIFORNIA (6-2)
=WK 1=
Was surprised by how well Cal did against Michigan State. Should handle Wazzou easily. =WK 2= I wish I could say Cal was for real, but Cal will ultimately pull a Cal and lose 2-3 games. Did I write this before? They should beat Maryland by 80. =WK 4= Seriously, Maryland lost to Middle Tennessee. =WK 5= Were off this week, and they needed it after that egg in College Park. Should get a stiff battle versus a Colorado State team who is showing signs of life after all. =Wk 6= Cal is Cal. They look great, and then lose to Maryland. Then they beat an NFL team, and lose to North Texas. Who knows? They play ASU this weekend, and Lord only knows which Cal team will show up. =Wk 7= Since that whipping they took in College Park, Cal has been playing well. Will probably get into the TAE Top 25 is they win their next game. Bye this week. =Wk 8= Was off this past weekend, this week they get Arizona. =Wk 9= Cal, I had you on deck, actually you were at the plate, and you struck out in t-ball against Arizona! Please destroy UCLA. =Wk 10= Back on track... in theory... after last week's win over UCLA. Huge game against Oregon this week.

UCLA (3-5)
=WK 1=
Gritty win over annually-overrated Tennessee. Craft looked excellent in the 2nd half. =WK 2= Were off, played Thursday. Can Neuheisel follow up that Tennessee win by ending the BYU hype? =WK 4= That offensive genius scored zero points against a team who returned 3 defensive starters. They also gave up 59 points. Arizona this week, and its anyone's guess as to which UCLA and which Arizona team will show up. =WK 5= Awesome game this week, guys, getting blown out by Arizona. That offensive war machine of Neuheisel and Chow is really something special. Tell us more about how Dwayne Walker is a defensive genius. This week, it is Fresno's turn to pound UCLA. =Wk 6= Is anyone worse than UCLA? =Wk 7= Poor WAZZOU, even UCLA crushed them. Bruins travel to Autzen this weekend for loss number 4. =Wk 8= Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty bad. Wow, for all these "genius" coaches, UCLA sure looks impressive. Stanford this week. =Wk 9= Of course UCLA beats Stanford. God, I hate football. You'd think Cal would beat them by 70 this week, but who knows. =Wk 10= This team is a complete disaster. I'm not sure they don't play in the ACC.

ARIZONA STATE (2-5)
=WK 2=
Beat a good Stanford team handedly. This week they take on a deceptively tough UNLV club. =WK 4= UNLV is better than you think, but there's no excuse. Georgia this week, and it'll be close. =WK 5= They had too much success last year, and now those fans are spoiled. =Wk 6= Cal this week. Both teams need this win. =Wk 7= ASU doesn't have much to offer this season. They get USC this week, and I don't expect anything short of 15 point loss. =Wk 8= Nothing like a blowout loss to a conference rival to get boost morale. Rudy Carpenter is terrible. =Wk 9= Were off, now they get Oregon. =Wk 10= Nothing better than seeing a garbage coach get his due. Big loss to Oregon, and everyone else this season. Oregon State this weekend, and this defense doesn't have a chance.

SOUTH CAROLINA (5-3)
=WK 1=
The most underwhelming 33-0 win in a long time. This team needs a lot of work if they plan on contending in the SEC. =Wk 2= Is Steve Spurrier the reason why this program can't make any headway? They'll follow up that performance by getting crushed this week by Georgia. =WK 4= Spurrier's insane QB rotation is the sole reason why South Carolina will never make progress until he leaves. =WK 5= How do you barely scrape past Wofford? This offense is a joke. You can blame the Ol' Ball Coach, who needs to take his ball and go the hell home. =Wk 6= They'll lose again this week, to Ole Miss. =Wk 7= Alot of character in that win over Ole Miss, they get UK this week in what should be a bigtime matchup. =Wk 8= They are looking a lot better, McKinley is playing pretty well. Not ready to say they've turned the corner, but they are definitely starting to come together. Can get back into the spotlight this week against LSU. =Wk 9= Was surprised in how much of a fight they gave LSU. It seems like maybe the defensive adjustment that Spurrier made in the offseason is finally paying off. And it looks like they finally settled on a QB for once. =Wk 10= Was off this past weekend. Tennessee this week.

Good question! I personally would never let my kid wear a Georgia shirt. Even as a spit rag.

Since I have some extra time on my hands, I will make my own Top 10 for this week.

1. Texas - Colt McCoy has been outstanding this year. The defense will get another big test this week.
2. Alabama - Nick Saban has turned this program around already. I still think they will lose one before the season is over.
3. PSU - PSU had their biggest win a few years last week. If only they had a tougher schedule, I would give them more love. They will be in the National Championship.
4. Oklahoma - Only loss is to #1 Texas. Sam Bradford is one of the best quarterbacks I have seen this year.
5. Florida - This team is fast. A loss to Ole Miss and Jevan Snead cost them from being #4 in my rankings.
6. Texas Tech - If they hadn't scheduled to D1-AA schools, they would be at #3 on my list. They are still undefeated and not getting much love. That could all change this week.
7. Georgia - Alabama took them to the woodshed early on in the year. They bounced back with a win at LSU.
8. USC - They have lost to Oregon State and barely beat Arizona. I am not that impressed with them to this point. They have all the talent in the world, but seem to lay down in certain games.
9. Oklahoma State - Oklahoma State has only 1 loss and it is to Texas. They are the best defensive team in the Big 12 and may win out. The Oklahoma game will be a great one.
10. Utah - The only non-BCS team on my top 10. Not a big fan of non-BCS teams, but who is really more deserving than Utah? Ohio State? I don't think so. Missouri? I don't think so. LSU? No way.

Once again I reiterate: Texas Tech actively scheduled TWO i-aa teams this season. Regardless of whetehr or not they go undefeated, they do NOT deserve a title shot.

have you taken a look at their next 3 games? texas, ok state and oklahoma... i'd say they beat those three and then take out baylor it'd be hard to make a case for taking an unbeaten penn state, or a 1 loss team over them... irregardless they're not going to beat all three of those teams, so there isn't really going to be a controversy, but it'd be interesting to see a PSU vs. Texas Tech for a championship game and see if the BCS lovers start to think about a playoff system.

count, not to mention they would play for the Big 12 Championship and defeat a 2-3 loss Missouri team.

I don't mean to use foul language, but I will this time: This is a bunch of bull****. I don't care if they scheduled 1o Top 10 teams. They went out and scheduled 2 I-AA opponents. Texas tech loves to pad their stats with garbage I-AA competition. I am totally fine with ONE if you want extra home revenue. That's fine. But scheduling 2? What's stopping USC or Alabama or Florida from doing it next season? You have to snuff this stuff out when it happens. It's a bunch of bull****. They have NO RIGHT in any consideration for a title when teams like Texas or Alabama or whoever else all schedule ONE of those teams and play in conferences just as tough as Texas Tech. That 12th-game requirement was set up as a way for lower-income teams to make some more revenue. Itw as NOT set up so teams like Kansas and Kansas State and Texas Tech (who all love, love, love, love I-AA opposition) can add ANOTHER one on top of the one they already schedule.

You have got to stop this crap when it starts or everyone will start following their lead. You watch and see if they don't, if Texas Tech gets a BCS title bid.

TAE... i completely agree that it needs to stop, but what i'm saying is if they go undefeated they deserve a shot at the title. at the end of the season they'll probably have one of the toughest schedules and possibly the most wins over top 10 teams which is commendable. but like i said in my last post they're not going to go undefeated anyways so it doesn't really matter.

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.
