#1 recruit in nation commits to BYU
Jake Heaps, the #1 ranked QB in the country on Scout, is headed to BYU. The QB has skipped over Washington, Tennessee, OU, LSU, FSU, Cal, and others. Great for the Mtn West, I love Mtn West football.

Who? Scout can't be serious by having this kid ranked #1 overall at quarterback. The kid that PSU got is a better prospect than Heaps, in my opinion. Also, I'm not so sure he had an offer from OU, but I know he did have an offer from LSU.

Has an OU offer. Cal, FSU, BYU, LSU, Tennessee, Washington, others. BYU usually is about the only non-BCS school who plays with a lot of BCS talent. A lot of QB heritage there.
It's cool, deliverance, I know you're pissed at BYU since they just stole a UT receiver.

Has or had an OU offer? Oklahoma has already received a QB commitment from Blake Bell, whom is the #3 ranked quarterback in the Nation, which is higher than the kid you're talking about. Wait, he's number one on Scout, though? The same site that had Reggie Bush as a 4-star recruit.
It's okay, TAE. I know you're still mad that PSU hasn't won a National Championship since you've been born.

I'm gonna hold you to this new opinion that Rivals is better than Scout.
They did not pull his offer. Offers don't get pulled unless something weird happens like grades or behavior.

Rivals does not say that he has an offer from Oklahoma. Scout says he does. I have a feeling that when Blake Bell committed to OU that they no longer contacted Heaps, which is the same as saying thanks for being option #2, but we're no longer interested.

ESPN fails to mention Oklahoma, too. However, they do mention the likes of Duke, Minnesota, and Washington State recruited him. Why is Scout the only one that has any mention of Oklahoma?

Bell committed 4/3. So you are probably right that they stopped chasing him. LSU and Tennessee are both great offers though.

Oklahoma's #1 target was actually Connor Wood. After he committed, they stepped up their pursuit of Bell. I never heard any mention of Heaps. If he was one of their options, he was pretty far down on their list.

Re: #1 recruit in nation commits to BYU
Either way, he is a huge recruit for BYU.
The Mnt. West really has an argument for down the road getting more representation in the BCS. I think that if the Cotton Bowl does end up becoming the 6th BCS Bowl that the Mountain West champion should seriously be considered as an automatic bid and will play in the cotton bowl. What would really sell this is if they can get a program like Boise State to join Mountain West. That would mean a conference with Boise State and Utah that both won BCS games and BYU who has a national title.
