Guess where Todd Thomas is.

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

Not at Pitt.

During his recruiting, I told you geniuses that Thomas would not get accepted to schools with actual academics, like Penn State and Michigan. PSU, Michigan, and a host of others all backed away from Thomas, who is a great athlete. PITT wouldn't even accept him, which is saying a lot. Thomas is now at Milford Academy. The kid was labeled as lazy as hell in the classroom, and knew all along he'd have trouble getting admitted, yet did nothing about it. If you have a learning disability, that's one thing. Laziness is another.

Uhhh, do you wanna hear the Curt Ennis story & he was not a special ed kid :?: And he has not been the only Nitwit to prep! If you want to get on kids let's discuss your TE, Quarles - he has more suspensions & arrests than receptions last few yrs. yet still on squad :?: :?:

You're retarded.

A better example would have been Daryl Clark, since Enis played in 1947. Clark had many sit-downs with Joe and the staff and gave them weekly progress reports where he assured them he was busting his rear-end to get accepted at Penn State. You know, a hardworker who knew he had a great opportunity and made previous mistakes academically.

Todd Thomas however, had offers to a lot of great programs, all of which backed away except... you guessed it... everyone's favorite haven for deadbeats, aka the University of Pittsburgh. Didn't Akron also back away from Thomas? Do you remember when Akron was listed in his final 3 or 5 (I forget which)? Pretty strange to have Akron as a finalist when you have offers to Clemson and Michigan. Bottom line: Pitt bends their admissions requirements for athletes and STILL couldn't get this kid accepted. That's not Pitt, that's Todd Thomas!!!!

Congratulations on landing him.

So psu didn't lower their standards for D. Clark??
What about awhile back, when they recruited a gentleman by the name of Floyd Wedderburn (spelling). I saw another guy on this years squad with the same last name....any relation?
But did Floyd have the same entrance standards as a person in the engineering dept. ? Or was his lowered a tad by jokepa?

One thing worse than the Thomas thing is, smart kids playing football at PSU who shoot arrows into apartment walls, make threatening phone calls to others, and break into apartments of innocent students and beat the **** out of them. At least Thomas has an excuse.

At least those individuals didn't get hammered with a priest and fall to his death from church rafters. Only at Pitt...

Interesting debate: Is being "too lazy to get into trouble" the same thing as "being nice just b/c you know you'll get grace from it"?

Shocker: I honestly don't know what the situation was regarding Floyd Wedderburn. I'm pretty sure Mark is related to him, though. Not 100% sure.

Clark spent a year at prep school. That's where he gave the staff weekly updates on his academics. There was a lot of deliberation over whether or not to bring Clark to PSU. Let's remember here,too... This kid was not highly regarded. He was a 2-star player. It's not like PSU accepted a 5-star kid because he was a must-have. Clark showed his character and it impressed the staff.

We'll see where Thomas ultimately ends up. I'm guessing Ole Miss or Miami, where they take anyone. Then he'll be in the NFL 3 years from now making millions as a kid who was blessed with athletic talent but was too lazy to get his grades up to get into college. Absolutely pathetic.

HOLY HYPOCRITE!! The only list longer than the UPS roster this year is # of players on the State College Police Rap Sheet

BTW, know a kid that was @ Kiski Prep when D. Clark was their & he had other students write all his papers & complete nearly all his out of class assignments!
