EIU - PSU Notes.
TAE'S HALFTIME NOTES presented by Wheeler Pontiac and Deyarmin's Market... can't beat Deyarmin's meat, but if you shower we might let you try!
1. Daryl Clark sucks. I know its nice to see TD passes but the more important part of that Powell TD was the fact that Clark underthrew it by 5 yards.
2. History in the making: Daryl Clark making a strong push to overcome Zack Mills' coveted record of INTs on screen passes. A little before the half, Clark took another step towards the record by throwing the ball 9 yards behind the receiver... who was 6 yards downfield. INT by Nick Nasty, one of the best names in all of sports. Great job, Daryl, you are an idiot.
3. Nice to see Justin Brown in the game in the 1st quarter, made a nice catch.
4. Brett Brackett makes his 1st career TD catch after 74 previous drops. Nice to see you showed up against Eastern Illinois.
5. Devon Smith had a couple nice plays, including some great downfield blocking for a freshman who is 5'5".
6. Seeing Bowman return a fumble 90 yards for a TD is nice... BUT... what the hell was EIU doing on the PSU 10 yard line? I'll tell you: Once again, PSU gets a lead and goes into a shell on defense. That's coaching, folks. Pathetic.
7. Stefon Morris should be given a chance to take AJ Wallace's starting CB spot. Wallace sucks. For a 5-star CB out of HS, Wallace is in his final season and he's still not doing enough.
8. Defense plays great when they want, but still missing sacks and tackles.
9. 6 games into the season and still getting offsides penalties and delay of game penalties in the redzone. Unacceptable.
10. Line is once again playing very well, and yes, consider the opponent, I understand.

Clark starts the second half, something I don't understand. Newsome needs to be in there now.

Did anyone else have the Benny Hill theme in their head when Newsome was running around asking people where his helmet was? Paterno just stood there and stared at him. I can't wait for him to be our new quarterback at Alabama next season.

And JoePa reminds me of the little skinny old guy on Benny Hill. You know, the little guy Benny kept slapping on the head.

Did a little research on Eastern Illinois. When it was founded in 1897, it was called the Eastern Illinois Evangelical Instructional Order. Eventually the name was changed. After all, who wants to be known as EIEIO.
