Vince Young.

Post by retro1530 »

Did anyone catch the end of the Titans/Cardinals game? Very clutch drive by Vince. As a Titans fan, I watch him every week and I must say that he is a much better quarterback than he was before. Yeah, he's not the most polished passer, but he has greatly improved. His decision making is much better, he is hitting his check down receivers instead of forcing something downfield, and he isn't looking to run first. I really like how he has responded after turning the ball over; against the Bills, he threw an interception and then drove them to a touchdown next time out and against the Texans, he fumbled the ball and led them to a field goal the next drive. The old Vince Young would have sulked on the turnovers and that in effect would have made him worse. The new Vince Young shrugs them off and plays calm and confident. I've been very impressed with him so far and I know our Texas fan Deliverance has been too.

Also, to add about the game, Stephens-Howling was Arizona's MVP tonight. Kick return TD and he downed two punts at the 1 yard line. Nice to see the hometown guy play well on the national stage.

He has been better than I had anticipated this season. I thought his career was over with the Titans. I thought it would take a new environment to allow him to revive his career. VY has always been a winner no matter where he has been. The NFL hasn't been any different. His statistics will never be pretty at the end of the year in the NFL. However, there's very few people I would take over Vince Young if I had to pick a guy to lead me to a win in a big football game. Vince doesn't do it pretty, but all he does is win football games. That drive yesterday was unbelievable. Just remember that Chris Johnson did not touch the ball at all on that 99 yard drive.

Does your keyboard not have a period key?

Where does it say he's a top 10 quarterback? I said he was clutch and the stats prove it.

Read before you make assumptions, kid.

Please read deeper. He said that there are very few people I would take over Vince Young if I had to pick a guy to lead me to a win in a big football game. He wouldn't necessarily take him as a top ten quarterback overall, but rather as a top quarterback in the clutch.

Thanks for clarifying that for me, retro. He's not a top 10 quarterback in the NFL right now. He may never be. That doesn't mean he's not clutch. Not too many quarterbacks ever lead their team on a 99 yard drive to win a game in the NFL. There's a lot of quarterbacks I would take over him if we're playing start to finish in an NFL game. There's very few I would take over him with one possession to win the game and the clock running down. The guy usually finds a way to get it done when it's crunch time.
