Paterno Denies Bolden's Request...

Post by ham55 »

...what is going on? I hope that they sue the University and this is the straw that breaks the Paterno camel's back.

It's one thing that PSU routinely changes positions for new recruits based on what positions they need for the team, but now they won't even let kids leave if they want to.

Didnt Brown leave Tennessee without Dooley's "permission"?

I believe this just means that he will have to sit out if he transfers to another FBS. If Paterno released him that means that he would be eligible to play immediately.

Attention Pennsylvania District VI head coaches: Tired of having your top athletes desert your teams in order to transfer to private schools for the final year(s) of their athletic careers? The answer may lie in Joe Paterno's new book entitled, "HEY, I GOT YOUR RELEASE RIGHT HERE". In this manual, soon to be released in New Jersey as "YO, RELEASE THIS", Joepa details how to keep a player on your team forever. Borrowing an old phrase from Nancy Reagan, when a player wants to transfer, the answer is simple: JUST SAY NO. If it's good enough for Joepa, it's good enough for everyone.

According to BlueWhiteIllustrated, Bolden's high school coach has stated that Bolden "has relented to Coach Paterno's request that he return for the Spring semester". Relented to Coach Paterno's request? How cute, especially when JoePa flat-out told Bolden that he would NOT grant him his release from his scholarship. Seems like everything at PSU is sugar-coated, doesn't it. They're just one big happy family, aren't they?
