Class A All-State Team Snubs D9
Class A All-State Team Snubs D9
Obviously nobody in District 9 had a vote in the recently announced All-State selections.
I cannot believe that District 9 Player of the Year (All-Classes) Max Rynnd was not selected to at least the 2nd or 3rd team.
Does anyone else in other areas of the state have a beef with this? It seems really political to me. Is he being punished for his team not making the PIAA playoffs and giving him more exposure? VC was upset early in the D9 playoffs as the unbeaten #1 seed, it happens!
We are talking about a player who was the Leading scorer in the District, Top 15 All-Time Scorers in D9, and leads Venango Catholic to an UNDEFEATED season! What does a guy have to do? Very, very political and I'm not saying that Gravatt from Rocky Grove doesn't deserve it, he does, but passing over Rynnd is a big time slap in the face of D9, VC and Max.
By the way, this looks like a cool board, I hope our part of the state jumps on board like it seems the District 6 people have.

District 5 was also snubbed and I believe the Gibbons kid from Shade was deserving of a third team slot. I think there is a major philadelphia slant to all the teams in all classifications. Maybe deserved in some cases, I dunno.
I hadn't heard about this kid from Venango at all, is he going on to play anywhere?

It happens in all sports. If you don't have a name it's hard to make htoes teams.

Garbage! How didn't Maxx Rynd make an All State team? He averaged over 25 points per game this year at Venango. You can see his highlights on YouTube-
I could have also seen Schmader (North Clarion) on the team too. He has been a big time scorer for the Wolves for the last 3 seasons. AllState teams are good but they aren't always made up of the best players in the state.
