NB/Portage The Blackout

Post by Sto »

The NB girls beat Portage last night by 15 pts. despit a blackout in the gym with about 2:23 left to go in the game. I'm not gonna lie to ya, I was scared to death sitting in the dark, even if for a few seconds.

I never knew the NB gym got that dark with zero lights...I about peed myself (scared of the dark) but the girls seemed to over come the fright to beat portage by a good margin of points. They had a good game and they fought their way through it, they were both physical teams...just wish more people would have came out to see the game.

I DON'T THINK THE NBC GIRLS HAVE A CHANCE AGAINST CK. I HAVE SEEN BOTH TEAMS PLAY AND I THINK CK HAS TOO MANY WEAPONS FOR NBC TO HANDLE. THE CLAAR GIRL IS GOOD AND SHE HAS A BETTER SUPPORTING CAST AROUND HER THAN BARTON DOES. :D

The girls from NB have a chance to have awesome teams in the very near future. With one senior starting, it's hard not to look towards the future, which is how it's going for all NB sports programs this year. Freshman, sophomores, and juniors are all getting quality minutes on the court, which obviously will help the team in the coming seasons. I'd be brave enough to say that in maybe a year, if not two, they'll be at UPJ competing for a title.

In two years the NBC girl basketball team can be playing for a Dist Championship. Coach Brumbaugh is doing a good job and the future looks very bright. I am impressed with Becky SHaffer this year. ALso Impressed with Kristi Barton. That gal can flat out shoot the ball. Wish she was around for one more year.
