WEEK 3
Mifflinburg and Milton- Miff is off to a 2-0 start and people were talking coming in to the season about the potential of their offense being really good, but their defense has been solid. 15 points in two games so far. Milton scored 26 points last week but their defense gave up 32 to a good running team and Miff falls in to that category. Mifflinburg 28- Milton 14
MCA and West Perry- West Perry could play 15 guys on each side of the ball and it wouldn't matter. MCA won't be tested again until week seven when they host North Schuylkill. MCA 35 West Perry 6
Selinsgrove and Manheim Central- In a matchup of the 2009 AAA state championship game participants the Seals have been playing some really solid defense but the offense is struggling a little to this point. MC is 1-1 and I see them being 2-1 after this game. MC 28- Selinsgrove 6
Shik vs Loyalsock- Shik gave Miff all they wanted this past Monday night. Shik has been doing a great job of getting the ball to their playmakerTyler Pratt who lined up at tailback some Monday night and had a 60 yard TD run. Loyalsock was beaten by Central Columbia the other night in what might be considered an upset. Loyalsock is lead by their bruising running back and potential Div I linebacker recruit Mr. Kinney. Both teams need a win and Shik probably more so. Shik 21 Loyalsock 7
Jersey Shore and Towanda- Jersey Shore showed they can throw the ball Monday night against Shamokin as that part of the game ignited them as their running game was grounded. Towanda is a northern teir team who has a reputation of physical play all around. Towanda 28 The Shore 14
Montoursville and Bloomsburg- This team and town have been through so much the last 9 days. Bloom had to cancel their game last week because of the devistation to their town as a result of the flooding. Their field is unplayable the rest of the year and I believe they will be playing their home games at Bloom University now. Montoursville played a good solid half against SCA Monday night mixing up their run and pass. Bloom 28 Montoursville 7
Danville and Central Columbia- Danvilles special teams might be some of the best in the state the last three years. The opening kickoff the other night was returned for a TD and that just adds to their total of returns for TD's the last three years. Central had a really good win against Loyalsock the other night and this could be a good game for a while. Danville 28 Central 14
GAME OF THE WEEK SCA and Shamokin- No secret these teams do not like each other. SCA is once again one of the best teams in the state in single A. Averaging 42 points on offense and they ran for over 200 yds and threw for 180 Monday night against Montoursville. Shamokin found some the endzone 4 times Monday night after only scoring a FG week 1. If Shamokin can be still in the game in the 4th quarter they will have a really good chance of winning.

Re: WEEK 3
Do you think Mt. Carmel is a team with the talent to play for a PIAA championship this year?
With cancelled games, are any of these games being played on Saturday?

Re: WEEK 3
Only Saturday game I know of is SCA and Shamokin.
I believe the winner of Dist 4AA plays Dist 3AA in the first round of states. Last year it was Trinity and to be honest I don't know who has what in District 3AA.
I think Mount Carmel, if DIST champions, could win their first round game and then play for a trip to Hershey.
But, first of all they have to win Dist 4AA. Lewisburg actually should of won the game last Friday night with them and if they play again in the playoffs that will be a great game once again. We will know in the next 3 weeks if Mifflinburg is a contender. Looking at their schedule Danville and Towanda will be a good way of seeing if they are for real. Bloom high school has Mr. Rankin and I feel those kids are going to rally around what they have been enduring the last ten days with the flooding and devistation. I see Mount Caramel, Lewisburg, Towanda, Mifflinburg, and Bloom being the top teir teams in AA this year. Danville at least this year will be a 6 win team but they are probably a year away as they are starting and playing mostly 10th and 11th graders. Mount Carmel should be the team to beat, but someone forget to tell Lewisburg that last year when they beat Danville in Dist championship game and Danville was favored.

Re: WEEK 3
footballfan1,
Don't be surprised if you see Trinity again or Lancaster Catholic out of District 3.
