Class A State Rankings

Post by jack daniel »

Crushers are 8th, and North Star 10th. Whens the last time two D6/D5 teams were ranked in the top 10 in any class during the regular season?

It happens more frequently than you think. Bellwood/BC or BM/Bellwood or BM/Tyrone FH/Tyrone

You just have to follow the rankings from week to week to see it.

But I see one District 6 team, and one District 5 team.

Crimson, I meant to put two local teams. And last year I thought of it being possible was 09 with McCort and Bellwood, but I don't think they were both ranked until playoffs.

It happens more than you would think. 2008 McCort and Portage I bet too.

Even in '08 I don't think Portage was ranked at all during the regular season.

jackdaniel,

if you don't think it happens too often, then it happens more than you think.

I know McCort was in '08 and '09 regular season. 2008 they peaked at I believe 6th, and in '09 got as high as 3rd or 2nd in regular season then in the post season were even ranked #1 heading into the state championship in the PFN poll. And while doing some research saw Tyrone and Forest Hills were both ranked for the entire year last year, proving me wrong yet again! Haha oh well, its still a nice accomplishment to have 2 local teams ranked at once in the same class. Even if it does happen more then I thought.
