HERITAGE WEEK 10

Post by HSfan »

Last week 4-1 and 36-9 ytd.

Saltsburg (4-5) 8
Marion Center (6-2) 34
First playoff game for Saltsburg since 1992 when they won the Appalachian Conf. and were Dist. 6 champs. The Trojans have been out scored 251 to 96 and lost two weeks ago at home to M C by 28-8.

Northern Cambria (4-5) 19
Glendale (6-3) 20
Hard to call but should be close.

West Branch (5-4) 14
Blairsville (6-3) 24
The Ferguson brothers and RB Andrew Iezzi should get the Heritage a split with the ICC.

Game of the Week
Ligonier Valley (8-1) 28
Philipsburg-Osceola (7-2) 27
Big game for Dist 6 AA seeding. Both teams are in the playoffs. The winner will have one or two home games. The loser most likely will be on the road next week, depends on Forest H, Richland and maybe Penn Cam.

Note, all games are on Friday at 7 PM.

you need to recheck your records Saltsburg's last playoff appearence was in 1991 when they won it all they never made it in '92, and will not make it for probably 15 more years, if the state doesn't step in and combine the two schools first.

Although you are correct that 1991 was Saltsburg's last playoff apperance (and they were D6 A champs) I predict that next years team will make the playoffs again. This group of juniors that lead the way to a 4-5 regular season record was 7-0 as Freshman. We all know that 9th grade records mean nothing at the varsity level but this Junior class has helped Saltsburg return to respectability and I'm predicting a 6-3 record next year for the Trojans if the schedule looks the same (have no idea if they'll be playing Liggy or Shade next year)

Yes, it was 1991 not 1992. I got the wrong date from an Indiana Gazette article. They were wrong but the Indiana Gazette covers the Heritage Conference extremely well.
