Thoughts From The Guru
There is a reason I have stayed away from this message board for years. It is same reason that this will be my final post for the 2011/12 football season.
Most "fans" on here seem to be looking for the faults or the shortcomings of the kids, coaches, or programs in the area. The way I see it there should NEVER be one ounce of negativity toward a kid or a coach on here. You had your chance to be a player and you blew it so quit bashing the kids or their teammates. I am sure that every coach and many players could and have second guessed themselves after many plays that weren’t executed as planned. I know that I have done that myself on many occasions. That is just part of the maturation process. I could be a great coach if I had the foresight to see what was coming on the next play. Sure some of that can be headed off at the pass with great scouting, preparation and execution. Oh yes there is also an opponent who is also preparing to defeat you. Don’t blame the officials for your shortcomings; they make calls good or bad both ways. They are human. We tell our kids that the officials never decided the outcome of a game. I firmly believe that. If the game was so close that the perception of a bad call changed the outcome of the game then the coaches didn’t do a good enough of a job preparing the kids for the game. Which brings me to my last point, do you think that the coaches prepare failure or that the kids aren’t trying to win? How about being happy for the kids and their programs? Heck, I am tickled that PM and Tyrone are still playing.
My recommendation to all of you nay sayers, arm chairs QBs and disgruntled parents is to sit back and enjoy the game. If you can’t then don’t go to the game but for Pete’s sake don’t embarrass your kids by screaming at the games or online, hiding behind your screen names.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Guru--you sound sincere
on the OTHER hand
and on OTHER boards
ShalerTitan--Should I copy and paste some of the dozens of less than flattering posts that you made about a certain Char Valley coach and his son...or how about a Plum coach---

There should NEVER be one ounce of negativity toward a kid or coach on here? Just give them a handslap and everything will be all right...alright?

Lets all drink the special koolaid, hold hands and sing in unison, "Kum bay yah, my Lord, Kum Bay yah!" Did everyone pick up their individual trophy? Why is there ANY competition, anyway, in any part of society? So-called beauty pageants, spelling bees, soap box derby races, the many sporting events, Jeopardy, chili cookoffs, beautiful baby contests, whatever-the-hell your little brains can fathom. Competition, like sex, is in every little bit of our lives. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen and hie thee to a monastery.
It ain't over until it's over.
