Johnstown...period. I don't even really think there can be much of an argument.

With all of the talent Johnstown has returning this season they should be ashamed of themselves for scheduling this tournament again.

There's a difference between TALENT and ATHLETICISM. Jtown has the athletes. I question whether they have much true basketball talent. Teams with good athletes who defend on defense and who are disciplined on offense can beat Jtown. The issue in D6 is that nobody can match their athleticism.

I agree with both Corky and Wpialtitan.

The only thing Johnstown can get out of this tourny is something bad..if they were to get upset. Winning it against these teams really doesn't help them. With that said they are in the Hollidaysburg tourny Dec 20th and Dec 21st. They play Hollidaysburg the first night and the other two teams in the tourny are from out of state. Hedgeville, WV who I think finished ranked in the state of WV last year and a team from Virginia, not exactly sure who.

As for Wpialtitan's comments I actually agree with him. They have one talented basketball player and the rest are athletes. They also lost their best shooter to Westmont but that was a good thing for the kid and I'll be rooting for him. I saw he had 30 in the Derry tourny in his debut for the toppers.

With all that said they SHOULD win the district again. They won one game in the state tourny last year against a good West Mifflin team. If they bow out before that game their season would be just like the football team... a disappointment.

Beware of such statements on this board, lest you be accused of various forms of prejudice. It is forbidden to say that some kids are more athletic than others. They just work harder than anyone else in D6.

Titan- when some of us define "athleticism" in our own way, we're painted with the "R" brush.

It looks like Johnstown could have one of the better AAA teams in the state this year but it's really hard to judge until they get to the state playoffs because their regular season schedule is so bush-league. Back in the day JHS would play at least 2 quality opponents in the War Memorial Tournament every year and they'd also schedule a number of Pittsburgh City Schools to challenge them. Heck, I can even remember the JHS basketball team traveling to Hawaii to play in some prestigious Christmas tournament one year back in the 80's. Now their schedule is a complete joke compared to other AAA schools like Steel-High for example.

Only when you stand in the endzone and throw racial slurs at kids and/or defend such action OR when you make "Jimmy the Greek" references.

If you didn't have such a guilty conscience you wouldn't even bring it up.
