Whats so big about Bedford @ FH? This is not the Rangers we all are used to seeing. This is in -NO- way to disparage the Rangers, but come on. 3 or 4 forfeits every match, kids out with injuries, others playing thru injuries. As I said before, they will be fortunate to earn 12 points. If thats enough to beat Bedford, then yeah, it would be a BIG match! It should be over about 7:45. That's the facts, Jack.
It ain't over until it's over.

I couldn't agree more with Manfred. Bedford is the best team that District 5/6 AA has to offer this year. Forest Hills is really down. There should be some competitive individual matches, but the team competition will be over by the 5th match. Look for Bedford to score in the 50's tomorrow night. Matches to watch will be: 106--Triston Law---15-6 (if healthy) vs. Jake Warren---8-4, 132--Kenny Corle--- 9-4 vs. Caleb Grimes--- 7-7, and 170--Zack Pinkas (if healthy)---9-6 vs. Dylan Evans--- 9-6. I'll take the FH boys in these 3 matches. They should make for competitive individual bouts. I will also pick RJ Brydon at 145 and Cody Law at 160 against whoever Bedford may send. Everything else, in my opinion, goes to Bedford with bonus points. If wrestled straight up FH wins 106, 132, 145, 160, and 170 with a chance at bonus in three weights. Bedford wins 113, 120, 126, 138, 152, 182, 195, 220, and 285, getting bonus points in every match. Good luck to both teams and to the rest of District 5 and 6 for the rest of the season!!! STAY HEALTHY.

Looks like BEA and PO had a barnburner...

From the Altoona Mirror-
PHILIPSBURG - Philipsburg-Osceola won two close bouts in the final three weights, including Chris Thompson's 3-0 win over returning District 6 Class AAA champion Travis Giedroc in the meet-ender at 106, to secure a 37-36 high school wrestling win over Bald Eagle Area Wednesday.

The teams actually tied at 36-36, but the Mounties won the dual meet on Criteria D, which is most bout wins. P-O had eight bout wins to BEA's six.

P-O sophomore Nick Gray earned a 2-1 win over Ben Verbitsky at 220 to break a 30-30 tie. Bryan Descavish (113) and Jeffrey Thompson (160) had P-O's pins, and Logan Walstrom (152) won by technical fall.

113-Descavish, PO, pinned Stine, 1:57; 120-Noll, BEA, pinned Barnhart, 2:32; 126-Bainey, PO, dec. McCaslin, 11-6; 132-Millard, PO, maj. dec. Barnard, 11-3; 138-Dillon, BEA, won by forfeit; 145-Smith, PO, won by forfeit; 152-Walstrom, PO, tech. fall Baney, 18-3, 4:15.

160-J. Thompson, PO, pinned Coakley, 3:31; 170-Taylor, BEA, pinned Prentice, 5:31; 182-Grieb, BEA, pinned Lumadue, 3:41; 195-Varner, BEA, pinned Anstine, 5:40; 220-Gray, PO, dec. Verbitsky, 2-1; 285-Sharkey, BEA, pinned Dombroski, 1:05; 106-C. Thompson, PO, dec. Giedroc, BEA, 3-0.

NB can't give up bonus points in bunches. If guys can avoid the pin, the Panthers have a shot. They just have some young guys giving up 6 too often.

NBC vs ridge preview
106- guyer over shank 0-3
113-claar fall gouchnour 6-3
120-crouse forfeit 12-3
126-replogle fall etterman 12-9
132-Hillegas Fall over 18-9
138-Pfaunmiller over corle 21-9
145-garland maj dec winegardner 21-13
152-sollenburger fall Albright 21-19
160-bollman fall Shipley 27-19
170-Dull fall airhart 33-19
182- dibert fall Douglas 39-19
195-grace over Albright 39-22
220-fochtman over Bruner 42-22
285-hixson over buttry 42-25
I'm interested to see if they send replogle out against crouse and sollenburger out against bollman. Over and Pfaunmiller could be a good match too. I can see 195 also being exciting with albright pushing the action more than grace, he's a scrapper.

Chestnut Ridge won over Northern Bedford it was 40 something to 20 something ...
also Bedford won 48-24 over Forest Hills ...the Rangers have more than a few talented wrestlers I was impressed by them its sad they have so many forfeits that hurts them as a team ....
