Tyler Boyd
I know this comes off as biased perhaps, but if you watch the kid, How many true freshman are there in America better than this kid?
Nationally he was rated 16th in all purpose yardage coming into Saturday, and all he did Saturday was score 3 more touchdowns. For a kid who has never truly played receiver and many people still call him "raw" it is scary the type of catches and plays he is making. I get the whole it was only Duke and New Mexico statements, but he made big time plays against Florida State as well.
Who knows what Pitt has in store for us this season, but we are going to be able to watch a special player for the next couple years.

Re: Tyler Boyd
It's funny a WVU buddy of mine said "how in the world would he pick Pitt over WVU. Just look at the offenses" I would say 4 weeks into the season. He did just that. WVU sucks, Holgorsen is showing his true ability these past two seasons. I didn't mention the State Uniersity of Pennsylvania in my original post, so I don't have much of a reason to discuss them in this thread.
Re: Tyler Boyd
He's a great player and someone that Pitt can build an offense around in the years to come. A huge line and a playmaking receiver to stretch the D will really open up a rushing attack.

Re: Tyler Boyd
The exciting thing about that notion of developing an offense around him is, I think we are seeing a good core of offensive players in the freshman class doing just that.
-- Tyler Boyd 16 catches. 314 yards. 4 TDs. 93 Rushing Yards. 1 TD
-- James Conner 47 carries 326 yards 3 TDs.
-- Scott Orndoff 2 Catches 21 yards. 2 TDs.
-- Jaymar Parrish playing a lot of snaps at Fullback/HBack
-- Dorian Johnson rotating in at Right Tackle.
5 true freshmen on offense is certainly encouraging, and with a player like Boyd in the middle of it all, it makes things much more exciting.
Again, I don't know what is in store for Pitt this season, but the future appears encouraging on offense.

Re: Tyler Boyd
Boyd has been awesome. Who would have thought that Robert Foster choosing Alabama would be a blessing?
Conner has been awesome. Who would have thought that Rushel Shell leaving would be a blessing?
The biggest difference maker in this offense has been Savage. Just having the threat of a deep ball is a breath of fresh air. Paul Chryst did a good job making Tino serviceable last year, and now he's helping Savage become a legit NFL prospect. The job he has done with QB's will look great to future recruits also.
Huge game this weekend against Virginia. Obviously Pitt isn't near the top of the ACC in talent, but UVA is a comparable program that we need to take care of business against at home.
