Mount Rushmore Project: Pitt Football
Not too easy, Pitt has produced some great players.
QB - Marino (College and NFL HOF)
RB - Dorsett (Heisman, College, NFL HOF) and you have NFL HOFer Curtis Martin, and arguably the best Rb in the league in LeSean McCoy as well. Marshall Goldberg (College HOF)
WR - Larry Fitzgerald (2nd in Heisman, no doubt future HOF)
TE - Mike Ditka (College and NFL HOF)
OL - Russ Grimm (NFL HOF) Jimbo Covert, Bill Fralic, Mark May all College HOFers.
DL - Hugh Green(2nd in Heisman in 1980), Rickey Jackson, Chris Doleman (Both NFL HOFers) Aaron Donald (Just won basically every Defensive award imaginable last year)
LB - Joe Schmidt (NFL and College HOF)
DB - Darrelle Revis (Possible future HOFer, been one of the best in NFL for a number of years)
Coaches - Pop Warner, coached a lot of places but spent 8 seasons at Pitt. Credited with 3 national titles in like the 1910's. Jock Sutherland, Pitt gives him credit for like 4-5 national championships.
So if I take in all of that.....
Dorsett, Ditka, Marino, Green.

As an "outsider" I thought Fitz was a lock. I've never seen a player dominate college football as much as he did for as long as he did. He was unbelievable to watch.

Whew. Tough one.
Just based on PITT performances, I'd say that I agree with your 4.
If you consider Pitt and the NFL, Curtis has to be in there. He was often injured at Pitt.
Fitz would have to be a 5th face chiseled into Mount Washington, he was a ridiculous talent at WR in college and is one of the top 5-7 all time in NFL.

Larry is unbelievable, and has had a great NFL career to go with it. Perhaps if Fitz stayed 3 years instead of 2, he may have put up some mind boggling numbers.
Re: Mount Rushmore Project: Pitt Football
Larry Fitzgerald has done all that he's done without much ever surrounding him, I would venture to say Kurt Warner is the best Quarterback he ever worked with and there really isn't a close second which is saying something

I won't lie, I was pretty happy when Fitz scored that touchdown against the Steelers to take the lead in the Super Bowl a few years ago. It is literally impossible for me to root against the guy, in any circumstance.
He's had a Hell of a run, I do wish he would've played for a more relevant franchise his whole career.

Could you imagine the numbers? Look what Moss did with Brady. I am comfortable with saying that Larry is at a higher level than Moss was. Put Larry with a QB like Brady, game over.

Got to mention Mark Stepnoski. Was an All-American at Pitt and was a 5 time pro bowler and on the nfl all-90's decade team. Future hall of famer.

Ruben Brown also had a great career as an offensive lineman.
Re: Mount Rushmore Project: Pitt Football
Are you going by college performances, or pro career?
Just throwing this out there, but I'd be eager to see how Pitt's Mt Rushmore for pro players stacks up against PSU. After all, Pitt is fourth overall eight NFL HOFers - Tony Dorsett, Dan Marino, Mike Ditka, Rickey Jackson, Russ Grimm, Joe Schmidt, Chris Doleman, and Curtis Martin. Also Pitt has had 109 NFL Pro Bowlers.
