Pirates vs Reds Thread

Post by Coach »

Locke is on the bump tonight! I hope this series goes better just so we don't have the fan meltdown I saw in the last four games.

The Reds without Votto and Phillips in the lineup and field for the whole series, would be a great time to take advantage and leave Cincy behind them in the standings at the break.

How about Devin Mesoraco? It's definitely cool to see someone I played against in legion ball make it to the pros and it's even better to see him playing as well as he is.

So can Pedro just move to 1st base already? His throws are becoming Chuck Knoblauch like. Ike has been garbage so we could easily cut ties with him, use Harrison full time at 3rd and a Pedro/Gaby platoon at 1st.

If they sign a third basemen for next year, maybe they can look into Pedro playing first in 2015.

Crimson, I know you aren't the biggest Harrison guy and I doubt his long term ability also, but I think that Harrison at 3rd and Pedro at 1st would put the best 9 on the field. I'd ride Harrison's breakout as long as possible.

You can't do a midseason switch to first base, that would be an even bigger disaster. I know first base seems like such an easy solution, but they have a lot of responsibilities, wouldn't come natural to anyone. Jay Bruce is a right fielder that's playing first, he already committed an error tonight. I just see the Pedro move to first as a bigger headache than it's worth.

If that's something they want to tackle in the offeason, I think it's worth looking into.

I really do like Harrison, I enjoy watching him play a lot, but he reminds me of a guy that would be on the Pirates circa. 1993-2012.

BP blows another one! My 84-78 prediction is looking even better.
