D6 AA Teams
Give me your thoughts on the following teams: Mount Union, Tyrone, Central, Forest Hills, and whatever you know about Juniata. Who looks to be the absolute favorite in D6, and what would be the best match up for the district title?

If Juniata still runs the same offense they have for ever they run the ball... that's it. I think at one point a few years ago they threw the ball a total of 3 times in two games combined.

I am not judging the talent of the current Juniata team but as a former Mt League member and a D6 playoff team they never faired well against the stiffer competition in our area.
Like jay jay has said they tried to pound the ball out of a wing T formation and didn't have the athletes to do it. Usually they are undersized on the line. Usually in a 5 3 D
That's all I got on them

I won't predict a final but if I was a betting man, I would say that either Tyrone or Forest Hills will be in that final game.
20 times over the past 25 years
and 5 times during that span they were the final

Juniata still runs the wing-t, but they have been throwing it a little more this year with a sophomore QB (maybe 8 times per game). They beat PV but a couple of TDs in week one. Their only other "quality" win was at Newport. Their remaining schedule is very weak, so I would expect them to be undefeated heading into a week 10 match on the road against Williams Valley. That should be a close game.
They won't rack up many bonus points, so I would expect them to finish with the #3 seed.

whats up with Forest Hills? I heard they are a good team, but looking at scores it appears that they do really good, or really bad. Just some small issues that need ironed out or is there a bigger problem?

Re: D6 AA Teams
The Juniata scouting report is slightly out of date.
Juniata has a big 6'2" sophomore QB that has thrown for 657 yards and 7 touchdowns. They have a back that has 685 rushing yards and 404 receiving yards and 19 total touchdowns. They have 5 guys with at least 20 carries, so my guess the Wing-T is still a thing, but they trust this kid to throw the ball too.
Their8 biggest kids.
6-4 330
5-11 300
6-1 268
5-9 265
5-11 245
5-11 245
5-8 242
5-8 240
So they appear to be a little bigger than usual.
They only play one game against a team with a winning record in their final 5 games. There's a reasonable chance Juniata can be 10-0 heading into the District 6 playoffs. Tyrone and Mt. Union also have that chance.

I don't see the top 4 teams in the AA standings losing. I also don't see Central Cambria losing another so I would put them at 5. After that you got 3 LHAC teams and Ligonier Valley battling Iit out for the final three spots.

Doesn't Juniata play a majority of its schedule against D4 teams?

Also add Huntingdon to that mix. They will most likely finish at 6-4 if they can get by Ligonier Valley this week. Huge game for both teams. The winner probably gets in and the loser will really need some help.kmr wrote:I don't see the top 4 teams in the AA standings losing.
