Pirates vs Tigers series thread

Post by Coach »

The Bucs are coming home after starting the season on a six game road trip to begin the year. They'll be hosting a Detroit team that has to be the best in baseball on paper. These guys can hit like crazy and shut you down from the mound.

AL Central with two 6-0 teams, only ones left in baseball. Until today....

But seriously, yea tough series. Detroit is freaking loaded, and don't even have there entire team healthy. Atleast we have our top 3 going and I"m sure PNC will be poppin'!~

Their batting lineup is just unreal. In the top of the 9th Melancon had to go through some absolute studs.

Today was a great win. All 9th inning sphincter shrinkers aside. Hughs was shaky last year, came in and was great. Pedro kept stroking, and Hart keeps getting great ab's in big spots. I'm still sure he's gonna be big this year. Although, if Pedro stays hot his time may be minimal for a while . This guy is a 30+ hr guy when healthy. Luckily for us, the Brewers and M's didn't wait for it. The bench has been among mlb's worst, now is a strong point. Just hope the pitching holds serve.

Hughes shaky last year??? His ERA was 1.96 in 63 games. If that's shaky, I'll take it.

AJ with an ace like performance tonight but unfortunately zero run support. Can we end the Scahill experiment and get Holdzkum back in the pen where he shoulda been? Like what I've seen from Caminero so far!

Well the theme of this series was incredible pitching and absolutely PISS POOR hitting. Embarrassing effort at the plate against the bottom of the tigers pitching rotation.
