2015 AAABA
I've only seen a few games, but from what I've seen the league seems balanced. Martella's is still the cream of the crop, but I don't see a clear cut number 2 team. I have not seen Renegades yet however.
Re: 2015 AAABA
A couple days ago, I observed the standings as Martella's, Laurel Auto Group, and Paul's Renegades -ALL- at 5 and 2. Pick 1.
It ain't over until it's over.

I was at the game when Optamaltic Assoc took Martella's 10 innings or something. Was that a fluke game, or are the eye doctors closing the gap?

I'd be happy with either. While Martellas isn't as bad with the new coach, he is still a disgrace to the game. There is no need for the antics he does. I know I'm only one person and one family, but I won't go to Martellas pharmacy due to how this, and the previous coach, represented them. Literally every other coach in the league is respectable, and when they have an argument they handle themselves and the company they represent with class and dignity and respect. not those guys at martellas.
Re: 2015 AAABA
Regarding the AAABA tournament, it was announced today in the "local written source" that New Orleans was going to participate in this years tournament, as is Baltimore. Baltimore will not be the perennial powerhouse, as it is bringing an 18-U team from its inner city league. League meeting notes said that unlike this year's second-week of August dates, that they locked in for the next 10 years, the FIRST MONDAY in August to start the games. The current dates conflict with many kids starting college. Also a new franchise from Boston, Mass. This will bring in kids who years ago would have played for the former Milford, Mass. Townies. Always one of my favorite franchises. Now if we could get back Washington, and Cincinnati Wilson Freight, with their 2 (ahem) ball boys!
It ain't over until it's over.

How many teams are coming to the tournament this summer?
Re: 2015 AAABA
A full bracket has 16 teams, I believe. There used to be Altoona 4 team regional, with Altoona as host and the champion both making the tournament, and a Zanesville 4 team regional, ditto.

It looks like the Renegades have fallen off by looking at the standings in the Trib. I was really pulling for a competitive playoff.
Re: 2015 AAABA
I have no dog in this hunt- I root during the tournament for whoever wins, but yeah, it looks like a 2 team race right now, but I'm sure Renegades will give a battle in the league playoffs.
