Can we please stop with the "Trade Polonco" talk
Look, the guy was hurried through the minors. He is an uncanny, freak athlete. TONS of raw potential....key word being raw. Remember, he didn't learn to play the OF until he signed with Pittsburgh. So he's in his what (just a guess) 4th year EVER as an outfielder? If I'm NH, there is NO WAY I trade Polonco unless I'm getting Harper from the Nats. I'm not against sending him down for a while to get some confidence, and hone his skills a little, but no way should we trade him.

I know it's not the best site, but according to wikipedia, he was in Bradenton in 2013. so in less than a year he went from single "A" ball to the bigs. That's unheard of with the exception of guys like Harper and such.

I think the Nationals would have a good laugh about that trade offer, but I agree it's too soon to give up on him. He has ability and he's young, but he isn't a sure bet but the chances of him being a really good player are pretty good though.
The Pirates do need to bring in a right fielder, .231 isn't ideal for your starting right fielder.

I wasn't suggesting a Harper / Polonco trade, I was saying hypothetically that would be the only way I'd trade him if I were NH.

Send him to AAA after the break. Let him down there until call ups, and go from there. The only negative that could come from that is if he fails there, his trade value (again, I don't want to trade him) plummets even further.

Well, the Bucco's big move was to p/up again, Travis Ishikawa. Really? WTF. Opening day starter last year, then gone less than a month later, and bring him back?

It ain't over until it's over.

He was a great role player for SF last year. No numbers that jump out, but came up big in pressure situations for them.... Those are the kind of guys the Cards and Giants always find under the radar. Not saying he'll do a thing here, but he's at least done it before

I doubt that Ishikawa is the big move for the Pirates this year, but he's a low risk addition at the very least.
