District Six Football Class AA Week Two Rankings

Post by Crimson's Ghost »

1. Central 1-0 Defeated Tussey Mountain 55-13 Next up: @ Tyrone Previous - #1

Central rolled in their opener against an over-matched Tussey Mountain team. The Dragons handled business and didn't look ahead to this week's game with Tyrone. It's never easy going into Gray-Vets Memorial, but Central should be ready to go in what is one of the most anticipated games of the 2015 season.

2. Tyrone 1-0 Defeated Bellwood-Antis 41-17 Next up: Central Previous - #2

Tyrone looked very impressive in their thrashing over Bellwood-Antis in the Backyard Brawl, but they need to get back up for another big rivalry game. The Golden Eagles will host Central in what could be a preview for the District Six championship.

3. Forest Hills 1-0 Defeated Bishop McCort 26-14 Next up: @ Somerset Previous - #3

Forest Hills took care of business over Bishop McCort in week one. The Rangers used a powerful running game while easing in freshman QB, Adam Cecere. It will be a much more difficult this week heading down to take on a very good Somerset team.

4. Huntingdon 1-0 Defeated Mt. Union 17-13 Next up: @ Bellefonte Previous - #4

The game with Mt. Union did not disappoint and it was one of the better games of the first weekend with Huntingdon prevailing 17-13. The Bearcats will now travel to an improved Bellefonte team with the hopes of improving to 2-0.

5. Juniata 1-0 Defeated Penns Valley 75-12 Next up: @ Newport Previous - #5

Juniata opened the season in style by dropping 75 points. The Indians will travel to take on Newport of District 3 this week.

6. Ligonier Valley 1-0 Defeated Northern Cambria 29-26 Next up: Purchase Line Previous - #8

Ligonier narrowly escaped over Northern Cambria at home, but the Rams managed to hold on to start the year 1-0. Purchase Line comes to town this week, and Ligonier has an excellent chance to get to 2-0.

7. Mt. Union 0-1 Lost to Huntingdon 17-13 Next up: Juniata Valley Previous - #6

Mt. Union dropped the opener to Huntingdon, and it was their first regular season loss since 2013. The Trojans aren't quite as fast as they were last year, and may start a little slower. I still think this is a good team, and they should get on track with a game against Juniata Valley this week.

8. Southern Huntingdon 1-0 Defeated Juniata Valley 38-6 Next up: @ Williamsburg Previous - 12

The Rockets opened the year with a convincing 32 point win against Juniata Valley. They will head to Williamsburg this week, which could prove to be a tough game for Southern Huntingdon.

9. Richland 0-1 Lost to Bishop Guilfoyle 38-14 Next up: Penn Cambria Previous - 7

Richland battled early, but could not keep up with the defending class A state champs, Bishop Guilfoyle. Hard to fault them too much for that, and they will look to bounce back with a home game against Penn Cambria.

10. Central Cambria 0-1 Lost to Johnstown 48-3 Next up: @ Bedford Previous - 9

After a short-lived Central Cambria 3-0 lead, the Red Devils allowed the next 48 points in a loss to Johnstown. It is going to be another tough game for Bill Corrente's squad as the head down to league favorite Bedford this Friday night.

11. Penn Cambria 0-1 Lost to Bedford 34-6 Next up: @ Richland Previous - 10

The Panthers were no match for a very good Bedford team, but this week's game appears more attainable with a game at Richland.

12. Penns Valley 0-1 Lost to Juniata 75-12 Next up: @ Clearfield Previous - 11

Penns Valley swallowed a tough pill with a 63 point opening night loss, and it doesn't get any easier with a game in Clearfield this week.

13. Bald Eagle Area 0-1 Lost to Moshannon Valley 40-12 Next up - Philipsburg-Osceola Previous - 13

Bald Eagle lost to a solid class A team Moshannon Valley in a non-conference showdown. They will have a chance to score a win with Philipsburg coming to town this week.

14. Philipsburg-Osceola Lost to West Branch 31-10 Next up - @ Bald Eagle Previous - 14

The Mounties battled, but ultimately fell to West Branch 21-10. They have a winnable game this week with a trip to Bald Eagle.
