Marty Tobias was let go last night. AD cited the desire to be more competitive.

I'm on record in another post asking how Tobias seemed to get a free pass, but if Nate wants to be more competitive maybe they should consider another conference.  They are a small fish in a big pond.  Here are the football numbers for the next cycle for the MAC:

PV - 179
PO - 214
Tyrone - 224
BEA 230
Huntingdon - 230
Central - 238
Clearfield - 313
Bellefonte - 348

PV is the only AA school.  Bellefonte & Clearfield are AAAA.  Everyone else is AAA.

It would be interesting to see if the ICC would take them back or if PV is even interested in leaving the MAC.  Any insights there Bill?

I'm going to make a speculation and say Steve Guthoff will apply and be a finalist. Just my thoughts with him being in State College. Besides he's been everywhere else.

I think with him on POs staff he might take over that team if they oust Soyster this year or next. But who knows.

Both of those are very good possibilities. Guthoff could find himself being the head man at either of those schools and they would be better for that.
