Wayne Wade Suspended 4 games

Wayne Wade, the Clairton head coach, has been suspended 4 games for next season after criticizing the officials following a loss to Bishop Guilfoyle in the state championship.

I personally think this is the right move.  Wade has not conducted himself or his team in a very respectful manner during his three year tenure.  Every loss, there has been an outside circumstance he has blamed, rather than taking the blame himself, as most high school coaches do.


-- 3 years ago they lost to Bishop Guilfoyle, and their players attacked the BG kids with their helmets. Refs were blamed. 

-- 2 years ago Berlin handled them rather easily, and more less said Clairton was still the better team, also blamed the field conditions.  The same field Berlin also had to play on.

-- And obviously this year, he blamed the refs in a 17 point loss to BG.  Bishop Guilfoyle committed more penalties than  Clairton in the game.

I agree Crimson. It's a shame the school didn't step in and do something.  With great power comes great responsibility. Seems as though Coach Wade has all the power in the world if the school doesn't want to do anything. They accepted the penalty because they didn't want the kids to be punished. How about you agree and support the penalty because you hold your coach, school, and community to a higher standard.

When you lose a game by 17 points, you can't blame anyone. Take responsibility for your team, hold your head up high knowing you made it to the big game and start to prepare for the next season. Three seasons in a row is getting old, he deserved to be suspended. That's just ridiculous out of a high school coach.

Sometimes it's about just not knowing how to lose. Clairton only has lost 3 games since Wade has been the coach (All to D5/6 teams, which I do get a kick out of) but he hasn't won a state championship. They win every game by 40 up until the state playoffs, when they lose it's a total shock to them.

Amazing that I've survived.  The comments weren't that bad considering the norm in there.  I was going to post something but I decided against it because it's just not worth it.  Their fans feed off the us-against-the-world mentality.  A team that regularly scores 60-70-80 points on opponents and yet the refs are out to get them.  Honestly the worst call I saw in a game of theirs last year was the Aliquippa game that was on TV when Wade didn't get penalized for hurdling.  I cannot imagine if the shoe was on the other food.  You could add that to the grass field, slippery ball and host of over excuses.  The state championship was a clean game, if Wade (Wayne) was trying to make some bigger point, perhaps he should have used a different game to get his point across.

Not trying to gripe but this should be at least his 2nd suspension. After seeing how they handled their first state championship loss then him acting like this again shows that he has learned nothing.
