Mondesi returning to the buccos

Post by thepalerider »

He could be in uniform as early as tommrow against the padres. Dave Littlefield said it on fox sports. I think that it will be huge and they can build on that 5-1 road trip, they can move bay to center and mackoviak can play 3rd. I still think mondesi can drive in tons of runs and hit some big homers!

What is his family situation now? Is he bringing them back with him?

Hopefully they trust Mackowiak's defense enough to stick him at third for more than just occasional starts. Certainly he has the offense to really help the team and his bat is certainly much better than Stynes. Hopefully that is enough to keep him there.

The Pirates are beginning to get a little depth.

dont know anything about his family situation if they are coming or not. However, when he returns you will probally see macko and hill at 3rd a good bit. Stynes has gotten a chance to get it goin and he hasnt. I would stick with Castillo at 2nd i think he is the future there. However, they do have another situation coming up with Simon due back in 10 days i bet they will just release him with Ward playing so well.

freddie sanchez is also due back sometime. i dont know what they should do then. i would love to see castillo moved to 3b, but it isnt fair to make him learn the position at the majors as a rookie. its nice tho to have too many guys u want to get into the line up instead of not enough. hopefully the days of abraham nunez in a pirates uniform are coming to an end.

mondesi, i hope comes back and hits like a madman until july when him and kris benson get traded for an awesome hitting prospect.

ya good news if mondesi comes back. But where does that put all the guys who are playing good now?? Hopefully stynes will be history. Hes poor, and Mack. is playing good, put him at 3rd, have to keep Craig wilson in the game, hes going crazy this year. Simon, when he comes back, could be a help also. Theres a ton of guys that should play, just not enough slots to play them in.

I wonder if Sanchez can play 3rd but i would keep castillo at 2nd because he went from AA to the majors, they need to bring him along slow and not ask him to learn too much ala Jose Gullien. Sanchez should start playing at Nasville in the next few weeks on rehab assignments. Cut Simon we dont need him.

dont be suprised if castillo is sent down to nashville and sanchez is kept up at the big leagues. i know that if the pirates can find a way to get castillo in the minors for a certain # of games, he wont be abiration eligible for another year and he will become a free agent one year later as well, hench saving the bucs money. considering recently every move the pirates make w/ their players is to save money, i think castillo will definately be in nashville for however many games it is that he needs to so the pirates avoid losing a year of paying him minimum money. nunez, simon, and stynes should all be cut in my eyes.

He didnt report today, today was the deadline so they destroyed his contract. They called up Mateo from Nashville.
