WPIAL Playoff Brackets/Seedings/Brief Thoughts

Post by WPIAL~Titan »

WPIAL first round games...The higher seeded team plays at home:

AAAA

#1 Pitts Central Cath
#16 Kiski Area

#8 Bethel Park
#9 Baldwin-Whitehall

#4 USC
#13 Plum

#5 McKeesport Area
# 12 North Allegheny

#3 Penn Hills
#14 Shaler Area

#6 Penn-Trafford
#11 North Hills

#7 Mt. Lebanon
#10 Woodland Hills

#2 Gateway
#15 Connellsville Area

The 6-AAAA champ will have no chance of beating the WPIAL AAAA champ. Period. End of story. I'll lay 25. Cancel the game and mail it in, 6-AAAA.

AAA

1 West Allegheny
16 KNoch

8 Yough
9 Hampton Township

4 Canon-Mac
13 Belle Vernon Area

5 Franklin Regional
12 West Mifflin

3 Moon Area
14 Chartiers Valley

6 Greensburg-Salem
11 Blackhawk

7 Pine Richland
10 Ambridge

2 Thomas Jefferson
15 Mt. Pleasant

The 6-AAA champ has ZILCHO shot at staying within 3-4 TD's of the WPIAL AAA champ...Unless the 6-AAA champ suddenly gets 5 LaRod-like transfers that are ruled eligible in teh next week or so.

OOPS...I thought that AAAA and AAA were the only classes that mattered (tic)...

I'm saving all my trash talk for class A, where I will lay 29 1/2 points in picking the WPIAL champ over the D-5 champ.

Ask and ye shall receive...1st round games are at the home field of the higher seeded team; quarters and semis are at beutral sites TBA, and the finals are November 20 at Heinz Field.

WPIAL A

1 Duquesne
16 Jefferson-Morgan

8 Charleroi
9 South Side Beaver

5 Bishop Canevin
12 Riverview

4 Rochester
13 Chartiers-Houston

3 Clairton
14 California

6 Carmichaels
11 Western Beaver

7 Monessen
10 Springdale

2 Farrell
15 Beth-Center

5-A champ has NO CHANCE at whoever emerges from this bracket (mail it in now, cancel the bus, and don't bother showing up), 6-A champ has a better shot, but not much better, IF 6-A champ can win their opening round PIAA game. I'll lay 29 1/2 on the WPIAL champ blasting the 5-A champ. Great season, guys, but just turn the clock on and keep it running in that opening round PIAA game.

WPIAL AA

1 Aliquippa
16 Brentwood

8 Ford City
9 Jeannette

5 South Park
12 Mohawk

4 Burrell
13 Freedom

3 Greensburg Central Catholic
14 Kittanning

6 Laurel
11 South Fayette

7 East Allegheny
10 Beaver Falls

2 Seton-LaSalle
15 Neshannock

I've been hearing all along that "This is Tyrone's year, blah, blah, blah", "Forest Hills is great...", "Wait till you see Bedford,"......well, Tyrone LOST to PO. Are you kidding me??? Whoever emerges from the 6-AA tourney will first have to get by a difficult PIAA opening round opponent and THEN face the WPIAL AA champ...Tyrone or anyone else will need 4 Jesse Jones's to hang with the WPIAL AA champ...

ROCK on, WPIAL champs.

That's right a WPIAL team will win the West in A,AA,AAA, and AAAA. I'm seeing a blow out when they face the other teams from the west. It's not just the speed of the WR,RB, and QB. It's the speed of the WPIAL's line and their size that makes them very very hard to beat. District 5/6 may have some big offensive lineman but very few of them are as strong or as quick as the WPIAL's lineman.

And we're interested in this why? -- especially since the Titan of Football thinks all 5 and 6 teams should slit their throats now and avoid the coming slaughter by the barbaric western hordes.

After bedford wins districts then they will suprise everyone at the state championships this team is just unstopable. WPIAL teams just look like Junior High compared to the POWERHOUSE of a football team that bedford has....... State champs all the way this year........

I wonder if bedford will last the first round

I am going to steal a Quote from A guy I know his Name is Lee Corso!! NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!! Bedford will be lucking to get out of District 5/6 with the likes of TYRONE standing in there way!! Yes Tyrone lost a fluke game to PO and Yes Bedford may make it to the District Championship game but they will never beat Tyrone!! They are just to fast and TOO STRONG!! Yes even faster than the almighty Bisons!! Believe me I watched them Dismantle Bellwood!!

The book says play for the tie, and if you lose in OT it's bad luck.
But play for the victory in regulation and lose? You're a bad coach
