I'm more moderate than anything else. I like firearms, freedom, and personal responsibility. However, I am all for mercy and giving people a second chance if they show that they can use it for the good of society. So I am neither liberal nor conservative, even though many of you would call me a liberal for not sharing the same views.
Besides, what's this with liberal being a dirty word? 100 years ago, liberals wanted a 40 hours work week, and got it. They wanted woman's voting rights, and got it. They wanted equal rights for different races back in the 60s. They have been responsible for establishing the minimum wage. Really, liberals favor helping people in their personal lives (as opposed to businesses), and they have brought about these changes for the good of America. So, how is liberal a dirty word?

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.

Re: I am not Liberal. Are you?
fleaflicker: Plain and simple- Liberal is wanting the government to "do" more for you, by instituting policies and laws to make YOU dependent on them. Conservative is wanting LESS government in our lives. Learn to do for yourself.

Re: I am not Liberal. Are you?
Nice try. Not all liberals want huge gov't. In fact, I am very liberal and want VERY small gov't. Conservative means small govt? What about all these new offices and agencies that Bush has created? There's nothing going on there that constitutes making a smaller govt. And there is NOTHING making a smaller govt with less intervention when you basically create a Gestapo act like the Patriot Act. Nice try.

Re: I am not Liberal. Are you?
How's this for a try then? GW has angered his own party supporters by supposedly caving in to the Dems just to "get along", by letting them have their own way, so to speak, even though God's Own Party is in the majority. He let Teddy "I knew how to swim" Kennedy write the medical health package that in itself is the SINGLE, most expensive item in the entire US BUDGET! If the Congress had spent that much on defense or guarding our borders, we wouldn't have some of the problems we have today. I honestly hope that the Republican majority grows a set and exercises the "nuclear option" as far as ending the threat of filibustering the Bush judicial nominees. It was the Dems that changed the original intent of the Constitution from a 51-49 majority to a 60-40 vote majority needed for approval of appointees. Since it now stands 55-45, the poor Libs don't want to lose again, just as they did AT THE BALLOT BOX. It's pretty pathetic when the Judicial branch can write their own law, instead of interpret what is already there, as was intended by our founding fathers.
