Complaining about the PSU Fans.

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

All you little simple-minded Pitt fans have to do is answer me these 2 questions. I'm looking for answers from such intellectual minds like D-nice and Titan and El Moldo. Answer me these questions.

1. Explain to me when referees started conferring with head coaches over what just happened. Do we need another mind to help out? We already have 5-6 experts working on it, and the people in the box.

Head coaches are TOLD what the call is. Not invited to discuss it.

2. Since when do we award timeouts based on when the head coach says he called it? It is the job of the referee to make that call WHEN HE SEES THE COACH OR PLAYERS MOTION TO HIM. If there are 18 seconds left, and I don't get the attention of him util it dwindles to 15 seconds, you don't add 3 seconds on the clock. You get the timeout at 15 seconds.

Let's hear it. I'm a sore-loser who can't take a loss. Answer the questions, know it alls.

Did you see the Steeler-Charger game last Monday? Sprouls from San Diego bobbled a fair catch, which was grabbed out of the air by a Steeler. NO FLAG WAS THROWN at the time. However, after the play was over, the officials stood around for awhile discussing what had happened, and then, about a minute after the play was over, they threw the flag. This prompted a response from Cowher, who got into the debate. However it was to no avail, as the ruling stood. But Cowher did try to sway the decision. Sometimes in works, sometimes it doesn't. Guess it's worth a try.

TOTALLY DIFFERENT SITUATION. That's a rule that can be discussed. Not an opinion brought up by a coach that swayed the ball-less officials to give old-@$$ Carr what he wanted. I guess you don't like the officials getting together today in the Pats Broncos game either to decide wether or not it was intentional grounding.

Look. Whenever there is some kind of controversy, EVERYONE tries to get into the act, to give their point of view. Sometimes officials see the error of their ways and side with the coach. Sometimes they don't. What are you going to say, that this is the first time in organized football the referrees honored what the coach had to say? They saw his point of view.

They saw his point of view? They awarded him more time, dude. Whether its PSU, Pitt, Temple, WVU, or McNeese State, the other team got hosed. That's never going to be right. You don't award the coach more time because he says, "Hey I called it 2 seconds ago."

Right. And if this happened to Pitt rather than PSU, of course this is a fair and rational decision arrived at by the officials and the other team's coach that caused Pitt to lose, though it was of course, fair and very justified.

Hey. They didn't flip a coin to arrive at their decision. Must have been thought out. It was a big game. Would officials intentionally hurt PSU? Hey, maybe it was the guy that Paterno grabbed that time as he ran off the field. Do unto others.....

If you watch the replay of that controversial situation, turn up the volume and listen real close. I swear I heard the head official say "eenie-meenie-miney-mo".
