FH and McCort

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

Now, people on here know me, and I'm not trying to tell anyone how to coach, but when your teams consistently have the defensive weakness being the secondary, isn't it maybe a good idea to go get a defensive backs coach? Isn't the FH weakness always that they are succepible to the pass? How many times do you need to be shown a problem before you fix it? Those who never learn from history...

Hey,

Let's take some shots @ McCort's coaches who have beat you 7 of the last 11 times you played. All hail King Don!

And BM had a wonderfully executed defensive game-plan against a terrific QB. For those of you who did not see it live, Rearick completed a significant percentage of his passes into coverage & rolled away from pressure on a few occasions to make plays! He also took a wicked S. Lewis shot late in the game but somehow managed to continue. He is a special player.....but the BM strategy frustrated Don, as they took away the deep ball all nite!!

Memo to FH defensive coaches: Uh, you can't watch # 21 with man coverage!

I think last nights game showed us that dont write off McCort just because of week one, they are for real. They have some serious threats on offense who can make plays. Alls i know is Im praying that we get a rematch out of these two teams down the road...it was a great game and terrific performance to both teams.

For a program that touts their "consecutive winning seasons" (because they can't lay claim to much else), I guess 7 of 11 is an impressive stat.

But lets look at those 4 Forest Hills wins. Three came in the playoffs and two of those were District Title games. If last night's win somehow eases the pain of playoff exits in 2005, 2003 and 2002 ... then enjoy.

Well put xylo. One reason for FH playoff supremacy would be because they improve throughout the year mccort simply does not. The reason for this is most likely coaching but maybe theres some other unknown reason????

Let us reply to a quote by gunny, another BM hater, who likes to stay in good graces with his boiz!
Who has more district/LHAC titles? hmmmmmmm
Who has more kids? McCort is single A this year & next and chose the high road by playing up.... FH fudges their #s to avoid being triple A, they are nearly twice the size of BM & McCort has won over 60 % of recent contest!

Uh, I will enjoy, thank you! And I would not minimize some of those FH victories but some of those BM teams mentioned actually overachieved!
esp. the '02 team that was very inexperienced and lost like 19 starters from the '01 team, which happened to beat FH twice the previous yr. @ FH!! 19 new starters & you make the D6 championship= pretty good year.
And the '03 team was not great but played over their head...now '05 was a different story as I felt BM should have won but #7 was certainly a difference maker and no shame losing to great play!

But 'lil 'ol BM will keep straping it up against the don't wanna be AAA Rangers & leaving it all on the field!!!

Can we please act like semi-grown men here? Can we start talking about current football that actually matters. Does it matter if Forest Hills holds it numbers? and does it matter if McCort recruits? No we can't change any of it so lets talk current football and not the past or the ethics of how these two programs win. Since i was at college preparing to play on
Saturday i was unable to attend the game. Can someone with actual factual football insight please tell me how the game went? And to put the past behind i played when McCort knocked Forest Hills off twice and vise-versa. In all for games they were won by who made plays how football should be. The pure fact is that Forest Hills won the games that matter and they have done it a whole lot more than McCort. But back to my point what happened in this game?

If you were a 145 lb high school wrestler all year, would you, if you could, want to wrestle 160 in districts? Probably not. And if you were a middleweight boxer, would you show up at the Olympic trials wanting to box heavyweight? Don't think so. Then tell me, why in the world is McCort playing AA when their attendance is single A? What purpose does it serve the team and fans for them to play up a class. Isn't this kind of stupid when you think of it? After all, in other states, when they MAKE teams play up a class, it is a punishment, right? I mean, who's the athletic director down there? Was he sitting around one day and said to Coach Salem, "I know we're single A in attendance, but I think we'll play up a class this year". What purpose does this serve? With decisions like this, no wonder BM hardly ever advances in the playoffs. Here might be their ONE chance to do something after the regular season is over, but their AD and coach put the skids to that. Like those Santorum ads, "What were they thinking"? Talk about asinine. Being single A would not affect their league play. It wouldn't change their revenue, their attendance. They'll have their radio show irregardless of their classification. What a bonehead move. NO ONE thinks they're NOBLE for doing this. In fact, I'll bet most everybody thinks they're foolish for not playing their true classification once the playoffs start. My only thought is, that they're trying to avoid BC, a team they can never beat. Or they can use it as an excuse when they are eliminated from the playoffs. You know, "No wonder we lost. We're such a small school". Hey, I guess as long as they have another winning season, that's all that matters.

I have no problem with a school playing up a classification. If they think they can better their program by doing so, more power to them. There was a basketball team from Farrell that was in the smallest classification in the state, yet won a bunch of state championships in the highest classification. However, don't play the martyr card if it doesn't work out....it was your choice.

Vman, you keep accusing FH of adusting their numbers to avoid AAA. Could you please tell me how they do that? It's not just a matter as phoning in the enrollment numbers. Every school's enrollment is monitored by the state. They must keep meticulous records of their students. I just can't see how this is possible.
