You go jaf!

As you said Tyrone was 3 & 4 in various polls. But that's okay...McCort will play the Rodney Dangerfield part.....no respect!
I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."

Like I've said in the past. DO NOT go by these rankings. All they do is pi$$ people off  More than half of the time these guys who sit down & decide who's who & where in the rankings they should fall, have never even seen these teams play.
THEY ARE B.S. Just like the college polsters are...

There's one way to silence these so called: "Jimmy The Greek" guys.

Just Go out & just win~ baby ~ win :!: :!: :!:
Eventualy they'll get the "Big Picture", of who you really are...

To fully understand the rankings, you have to understand where they come from.

These rankings come from guys in Central PA who never saw most of the teams play that they rank. They rank teams off of:
1. Where you play
2. What you've done in the past
3. What your record is

I hate to use FH as an example here, but if FH would be McCort's exact team right now...they'd probably be ranked at 3 or 4 after knocking off Tyrone. Why, prior success.

Same thing goes for the WPIAL. If a team goes through there undefeated, and loses in the championship game, they are probably going to be ranked higher than a d5/6 undefeated team. Just because where they play.

On the other hand...the rankings are meant to represent the best teams in the state. Last year, the state championship game was played at Heinz Field between GCC and South Park. I am pretty sure GCC stayed #2 or #3 the rest of the year even though they lost that game. They actually probably where the second best team in the state last year.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

Good Points OP, also, using FH as an example. In 2002, FH lost in the Western Final, so at worst you would think they'd have ended up fourth in the state. But there's an eastern bias, when it was all said and done FH was either 6th or 8th after a bunch of eastern schools (that lost in earlier rounds) jumped ahead of them.

I guess it's the east's revenge for not actually winning the state championships.
