Sideling Hill so Far
Looks as if the game between TM and CR will be an early test. I'm surprised SF handled Everett, but it was almost a must kind of win for SF after losing two games at home. M-burg seems to be giving teams trouble, and certainly NBC is improving. Both TM and Ridge have balanced scoring, especially Ridge, which has had 7 players hit double figures so far this year. Just hoping the game Tues. won't be a foulfest. I've seen enough already this year. I have utmost respect for officials, but when they see to be the center of attention instead of the players, I get discouraged. Unless players are fouling a hell of a lot more nowdays. Maybe that's the case. Maybe coaches would be better off teaching passive hand-waving zones instead of aggressive man to man. At least that way players might be able to play a larger part of the game instead of sitting on the bench.

TMT seems to have control of the league right now and they might get beat once but they'll win the legue. There combination of Donalson and Hoover at guard is best in the league.
CR would be my pick for runnerups. SF Indians and EHS Warrior are disappointments so far while NBC is doing a little better than I figured but theres still a lot of basketball to be played.
other fulton county teams seem really down in both girls and boys. Whats up with the fight at the McConnellsburg-Forbes game last Friday?

I don't know anything about a fight at the Forbes/McConnellsburg game, but I do know is that rivalry is a good one. They always pack the gym for that game.
Second part of business:
Forbes is definately up-and-coming. They have been coming on as of late. They beat Shanksville, Northern Bedford, McConnellsburg, and handled Southern Huntingdon by seventeen points. They are climbing out of the cellar and will most likely be in eighth place next Monday when the new district rankings release. They definately haven't shown consistency, but who has in District V-A? They are just as much a threat as anyone right now.
I would like to see Forbes get a playoff berth with Northern Bedford jumping up to AA. As of the January 15 rankings, seven of the top eight teams were from the WestPac conference. When's the last time that has happened?

Re: Sideling Hill so Far
Everett is definately not a disapointment this year. Yea, they have lost a few games, but they still only have two Sideling Hill losses. Two of their out-of-conference losses came to Westmont and Martinsburg who are state powers of AA right now. I say this team is definately flying under the radar. Tussey Mountain is by-all-means beatable in Sideling Hill, and considering they still play Everett twice the Titans could drop out of the top spot in Sideling Hill (not likely, however).
I look for TM to get way too cocky, the Lions will come back from their defeat and give tussy the beat down that they handed ridge in the first game. The lions have it together now better than they were before. I think if all the players from Ridge manage to keep control of the game from the start that they'll win the game. I think that Ridge has a very good chance at coming out on top of the League.

One compliment I want to give to Ridge is for their tenacity. This team has played quite a few close games, and they have came out victorious more so than not. This to me seems to be a combination of smart, conservative coaching and to the size, strength and determination of the players. At first glance, I must admit, I didn't believe in this team as a real contender, but I'm starting to come around. As far as size is concerned, no one in S.H.L. compares to the Lions, but Tussey has a slight easier schedule the rest of the way, so everything will have to go right for Chestnut Ridge to win S.H.L. this year.

Why do people always bring up the size issue? Ridge hasn't dominated the SHL have they? So what does it matter how much bigger they are than their competition?
