well mcunited d5 might make some noise this year in the distance events, not including myself, but mitchell from tussey has gone to the state meet the past 2 years and hale from nbc and roddy from windber will be making some noise in the 2mile for sure but the mile, i expect to see wilt from shade to do pretty well and possibly mitchell as well

Re: 2008 Track
yeah well Ian has gone to states the last few year but what has he done there.......... Nothing D5 does not stand a chance in the 2 mile at states........... unless someone comes out of the blue and runs 9:00 and for the mile I have ran at states in it and done very well but i dont think that anyone has the stamina or the speed to do very well because you not only have to run one good race but two over a two day period.

Jacob Little from Berlin will turn some heads this year in the 3200. He was injured last year and did not run at districts. He was runnning in low ten last year. I look for him to challenge Mitchelle for the title this year.

Re: 2008 Track
Donaldson and Ben Hatch (Bellwood - D6) are certainly the favorites in the 800. They are the two highest finishers returning (Hatch 3rd, Donaldson 4th) and they were only 0.02 seconds apart. I look forward to seeing the rematch in May.
If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else.

Re: 2008 Track
If you're a track fan, head on up to PSU this Saturday to watch the men's invitational mile (starts at 3:50PM).
Sam Bair, Shaler Area HS grad, former PIAA record holder for 1600m and Pitt's record holder at 1500m outdoors (3:42) and NCAA D-1 All-American in the indoor mile last season, will look to break 4:00 for the first time ever (his PR is 4:00.14, which he ran at this same meet two year ago.)
If Sam does this Saturday, you will be watching history because he will make he and his father the first ever American father-son combo to break 4:00 for a mile.
GO SAM!

Bair just misses breaking 4:00 AGAIN...He ran 4:00.16, less than a tick and a blink of an eye away. He finished 2nd to 2005 NCAA 3000m STeeplechase champ Bogdan, whio ran 3:59.18.
Sam has now run 5 times between 4:00.00 and 4:00.99...
