Bucco Slide
and put bodies in the seats.
Even though he usually creates a love me/hate me environment, Barry Bonds is that type of player. Imagine what the fan base would be if he was still playing for the Pirates.
I happened to be watching the Cubs/Astros game last night and it was interesting to hear the announcers talk about how much Roger Clemens has affected the Astros, especially the young pitchers. What would a Clemens, Maddux or Schilling type veteran do for the Pirates?
The Pirates seem to be getting the exact opposite result from their veteran signings. Most, not all, are examples of how things shouldn't be done, and Pirate management continues to bring in these models.

The Pittsubug Post Gazette said last weekend that the recently drafted kid from Pine-Richland will be a great addition to the Yankees after his contract is up with the Pirates.

I am like a die hard pirate fan and something has to be done, how bout a salary cap, but since they dont have that they have to be smart on who they sign and although littlefield has made some good trades the money they have spent is terrible brian boringer 2 million a year are u killing me, stynes almost a million a year, jack wilson 1.85 , kip wells over 2 benson over 6.
If i was the gm i would throw in the towel now, dump benson, wells, call up the young guns with perez being your number 1 starter. Then hope to get some skill players back for benson wells. I would keep Kendall he is hittin over 300 and a above avg cather. Castillo will be good and i think bobby hill will be ok. Craig Wilson is a 1st basemen so stop with the outfied experiement. Ward and Macko on the bench. Dump Tike and Simon.
Heck for another 2,325.00 they could have gotten Jose Guillen
1.23 David Wells

Some great posts right now on the fan forum of the Pirate site. Here's an example:
"The time has come. Mac must go or this team will lose 100 games. The club doesn't respect him. His lineups are ridiculous, his game management worse. Pulling Perez after only giving up two hits is absurd. I have been a supporter, but you can't fire the whole team. Do it tonite DL. Please. The bleeding must stop."
This guy's certainly right about one thing: the Pirates are gonna lose a 100 unless something happens.

I don't like the stuff about cutting the manager. He is only as good as his players. Look at the Pirates roster...enough said

For God's sake, can you do anything but gloat, Hollywood?
Bucs lost again tonight. The skid continues. Lanny and Walk weren't really that critical, though Walk did criticize a play that shows how inept the Pirates can be. The infielders seemed to be on two different pages on how to handle an attempted bunt. The worst thing about it was that the infield had just been given instructions from the bench.
The Bucs are well on their way to having one of the worst Junes in modern ML history.

See...now everything can't be blamed on Lloyd. He can only do so much. I can take the growing pains though...IF Simon stops taking AB's away from Bay. Stynes keeps on NOT playing. Sanchez gets healthy and plays some AAA then maybe come up to the show. Burnett, VanB, Dave Williams, etc get a shot now and we get rid of the guys that won't be here and aren't the future.
